You will likely need to scale the PDF. Measure a known distance on the PDF such as a plot line and scale the PDF using Transform and Replicate tool. Also sometimes an imported PDF will cause the program to lag a bit so you may want to convert the PDF to .PNG first before importing.
-
Sounds like you may just need to turn off "Bumping and Pushing" temporarily to get the placement you need or hold down CTRL if that is easier.
-
Yes just taking advantage of the built in function of the section camera that reads the layout label and sending a copy to layout to give that secondary reference in the elevation view. A functional indirect link. Move the section to page 4 and it will respond properly.

Thanks Michael. You are welcome Alan. Not a perfect solution but at least it lets chief know that it is something that will get used when they provide a better one.
-
Alan take a quick look at this and see if you think it is workable. Camera Callout test.zip
-
I hope I am not repeating myself but when you word it that way we have that ability. It just does not work if you want the callout in plan view as it appears to be in your example and then send it to layout. The "sheet marker" would be when you enter A-17 for the Label of the Layout Page Information. Or A-# would make it auto indexing.
-
Yes along with a few improvements to custom tool creation this would be great. It does not look like you can do anything much with the file that can't be done within the software with the exception of cleaning up a corruption situation as it would appear Steve has. But let us know if you disagree.
-
Steve 2006 appears to be a Custom Tool Bar Configuration if that triggers any memories. Eric, Did you happen to find a way to access the drop down tool bar sets or a way to cross reference the numbers ?
-
I think what you are asking for is still a feature request at this stage Alan. You can partially automate by using the %layout.label% macro but that is if the callout is actually on the layout page. The Callout Label ( camera number ) is still manual though.
-
I always thought that those associated layers could not be changed but if you remember how please let us know. It sometimes is a real limitation.
-
If you add them in layout you can have a macro display the sheet number but not likely a good solution for your situation but works ok to use as a view title.
-
Well isn't that a pickle. I noticed the problem doing a plot plan schedule with 30" text but default for 1/4" scale is 6" and works fine but then enlarged to 72" also seem to work. Seems to maybe be a zone, but not the same in metric. I will do some more testing.
-
I believe Eric is correct and this issue has not yet been addressed. Possible workaround would be to send to layout from two separate plan files.

Solid fill wall will not print in black and white.
Chopsaw replied to Lilidesignbuild's topic in General Q & A
You might want to post a test plan file but some colors do not have enough density to print and they will show fine in plan or even PDF. There is a setting in Preferences > Display Color Off is "Black and White" or "Gray Scale" that should fix your issue if set to Gray Scale. -
Glenn I was able to reproduce this and it seems to be dependent on the height of the text. Curious as to what yours was set at ?

Vector views use the Pattern that is defined in the Material Definition while standard render camera views use the Texture properties that have been defined in the Material Definition. Since you have X11 you can now generate a Pattern from the Texture but unfortunately it does not work the other way yet. Bottom line is you need a herringbone Texture file.

You might consider putting this in as a suggestion as I was messing around in Excel to try something out and realized this feature has been available there for quite some time. Also you might experiment with a schedule containing a 3D view as it's size can be adjusted and that effects the rest of the formatting for the schedule. See this thread with the opposite problem : https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/topic/21574-window-and-door-schedule-display/

Yes I see what you mean but even that looks conspicuous in a way. For future reference only post .pdf files when there is a pdf issue. A .jpg screen capture is preferred on the forum when it is appropriate.

Cad lines unfortunately. You can add some space below the text with the cut and paste Rich Text method but it looks funny. I think there are actually a good number of people that share your concern here but it has been that way for so long that it is unlikely too see a change from CA. If you have a lot of work to be done that way I would contact @Alaskan_Son ( Michael ) about the possibility of a customized font or maybe even a special existing one. I might even be interested as well if the price was reasonable.
-
So like my black Rich Text example or even more space ? It is double spaced but you can make it what you like.
-
Glenn is that X11 or just your Mac acting up ? The chart on the Right is Rich Text and a border with 6 cad lines.
-
Other than adjusting the font size and that automatically making the row height like other apps. I am not sure there is a solution short of drawing a grid with cad lines. Any suggestions Glenn ? Possibly a custom font but you would need someone like Michael for that.
-
Yes but have you tried Rich Text ? All the benefits of Rich Text in a Schedule with the exception that it can't start in chief and you are pretty much stuck with the original number of cells. Even if we had the option of font size in the header line of Schedules and Standard Text charts it would be helpful.
-
Glenn I went with the Rich Text suggestion because I assumed in mentioning the grid height for each row that they needed to be different otherwise Standard text would work fine.
