  1. Alan, I'm not sure exactly what you are asking. That said, the curved wall at the second floor doesn't align with the first floor wall - and neither does the stair itself. What is planned to be under the stair? Storage? Just enclosed space?
  2. Todd, The key to making it work is to set the height of the room polyline to1". Also make sure you set the molding to exterior (unchkeck "inside polyline").
  3. One thing that I adhere to religiously is to make all my CAD work in the Elevation Camera View. That includes Text and and extra line work such as the Line under the Title, etc. Any succh CAD done that way is automatically reflected in the Layout. I avoid using the "Edit Layout Tool" like the plague - I don't see any reason to use it at all.
  4. BTW, you can also save any Window Configuration to the Library so that you don't have to recreate it again. Then once place in a wall you can still change the type, size, arch, etc without losing other configuration parameters,
  5. Larry, You can create a molding profile and put it in the library for the Window Sill. Actually Chief provides 3 Window Sill profiles but they probably aren't the size you would want. Creating your own is easy.
  6. It's possible to restrict the Floor Cameras to the Room - but the framing is outside the room so it won't show. The other option is to only frame the walls of the room you want - or put those wall's framing on their own layer.
  7. Scott, I think what he wants - and it makes sense - is to have a standard vinyl frame window (nail on variety) like the attached pics. It can be done with the dbx but it's a bit complicated to get all the settings right. Of course once it's done it can be made the default and saved in a template. It would be nice to have a check box that would do this type of window automatically.
  8. Rich, It shouldn't make any difference. The "X" Close button and the "File>Exit" menu items are undoubtedly using exactly the same code to exit the program. This is typical for almost all Apps. The only exception would be if an App didn't include the "X" Close button. The code involved askes if you want to save and then closes all files and Application Windows. In most Apps that require a Log-In the code will also log the user out - Chief doesn't do that.
  9. Todd, Try Centering the Page. If that doesn't do it then uncheck "Show Page Boundary". It's all in the Printer Page Setup.
  10. That can be changed by setting a stretch plane at x=3 for the library symbol. You would need to copy the symbol to your user library to do that.
  11. Check the Library for Cabinet Doors. I'm sure you'll find something - if not then just create a new Cabinet Door Symbol.
  12. Antoine, Try setting the object as "Front Group", not just "Front of Group".
  13. You could also make those changes in a 3D Framing View.
  14. I use reference text macros to label stairs. Using Ruby to retrieve the stair data and format the text provides me with a very complete & accurate description of them and includes the up arrow.
  15. To use the +/- for trailing dimension text - hold down the alt key and type 0177 on the numeric keypad.
  16. Personally, I prefer the special character +/- but Chief doesn't allow special characters to be added onto dimension text - at least not the same way we can with general text.
  17. I don't think saving a "pony wall" to the library saves both the upper and lower wall as a compound wall. AFAIK, it just saves a wall type (the upper wall in most cases) but I think it's probably whichever wall is set to "display".
  18. Create a wall type as follows: 1/2" drywall 3-1/2" studs - Main Layer Add to your library Draw two of these walls side by side (drywall out) and move them together. Both walls will frame properly.
  19. They should be on their own layer. You can change the line weight and color of that layer which might help.
  20. Here's my Pegboard. The size should be set to 12"x12" PegBoard.calibz
  21. If you were using X6 you could use the Wall Material Region tool.
  22. Dave, Did you "Paint" the Room(s)? That would cause the glass walls to be painted also. You would need to reset the room finish to default and then just paint the walls rather than the room(s). Check the "Paint Mode" icons on the Edit Toolbar.
  23. No, how would it know what the materials were. A PDF or TIFF is just a picture. They don't have any data that Chief could analyze.
  24. I've uploaded the Tray Pullout Symbols in the Symbols Forum. https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/index.php?/topic/2535-tray-pullout-symbols/#entry20341
