I don't know Joe's reasoning for using multiple plan files (other than organization), however the more bits and pieces a plan has, the slower it gets, CAD details in particular can slow a plan down a lot. Keeping the plan small is good.

Pdf's On Mac, It Ain't Fun And It Takes A Long Time......

Scott, I'm curious... Are you using Chief's built in "print To PDF" option, a built in PDF printer on the Mac, or a 3rd party PDF printer? -

Why Does The Default Stainless Steel Look So Dark?

I guess the real question is... Is a potato a tater or a tator? -

See if this looks right Dock Changes Problem-3.plan

Sorry, almost forgot, you also have to extend the 2 deck edges that have been covered by the shed walls so they meet each other (which also requires placing a break in the shed wall that crosses one of those deck edges). AND, I think you have to open that shed room twice during the process to check that aforementioned box.
-
I think I figured it out. Open the "shed" room and under the deck tab, check "Keep Deck Framing After Deck Room Is Deleted". Seems to work okay after that.
-
I messed around with it for about 15 minutes and couldn't find anything either. Very strange. Not sure why you want to get rid of the shed, but if you want to avoid redrawing the plan, another option would be to change the shed walls to invisible walls or put them on their own layer and turn them off.

Sorry, not an answer to your question, but in downloading your plan I realized something...Since when have we been allowed to attach a .PLAN file!!?

Attach the plan along with a camera set up where you want it and maybe someone will help you out. -
Eagles?? Chargers?? Cowboys??

I think you might need to clarify a bit. Not sure if you're asking a question with regard to the software or with regard to general construction practices.

Shadows Inconsistent Between Camera View And Plan View

Steve, I give you mad props for attaching the plan... You have to CLOSE THE PLAN before you zip it though or it won't work. Your file has no information in it. -
Shadows Inconsistent Between Camera View And Plan View

I think perhaps you might be right. It was a nice sunny summer, but its been pretty constantly below freezing for the last week or so and we're losing around 5 min. 40 seconds of daylight everyday right now. -
Shadows Inconsistent Between Camera View And Plan View

I didn't even know Chief had the ability to display shadows in plan view. How have I missed that for so long? -
There's really not much more to say... post the plan Its become somewhat of a pet peeve to me over the years. 9 out of 10 times we ask someone to post the plan, they ignore it. For those of you that do, if you're not sure how to post the plan, just ask. Its easy... -Save the plan -Close the plan -Zip the plan (right click>send to compressed folder) -Attach the plan to your post using "more reply options">Browse>Attach This File If the plan file is too big, save as a different name and then delete whatever isn't necessary from the plan and try the above steps one more time...OR use Dropbox When you post the plan, you will almost always get an accurate answer in very short order and save a lot of people a lot of guesses. Plus, when you ignore requests to post the plan its almost a little insulting. You're asking us to donate our time to help you, but you're not willing to play your part (at least that's how it can seem at times). After doing this for long enough, I think there are some who will simply stop helping. Please, if someone asks for it, post the plan, and if you know it will help, post it before being asked. Thanks.
