  1. I haven't confirmed, but assuming the guys are right about the wall being pulled down, I would probably recommend you consider using a pony wall for your foundation rather than pulling the wall down.
  2. I'm guessing you just don't have that layer on in your Section View layer set (or whatever layer set you're using for that section view).
  3. Hmmm. Not sure if this will help or not, but I reassigned a CAD Block somewhere in this video. Maybe check to see if you catch anything you might be missing...
  4. Are you placing the CAD Block into the plan first? That's an important step. You won't be able to select a block from your library. You also can't simply resize and rename the existing CAD block. You need to explode and re-block it first.
  5. Here guys, from the Help files... "The polyline solid is placed in front of any objects visible in the view. If no objects are behind it, the polyline solid is placed one foot in front of the camera."
  6. Drop that CAD block into your plan. If you have "automatically Purge CAD Blocks" checked in the CAD Block Management dbx, it won't be available for use otherwise. Once the CAD block is in your plan, open the SYMBOL dbx for the duplex switch. Click on the 2D Block tab and select your block from the list.
  7. I don't think that's what Mark was talking about, but I think you provided a good solution. From the Help files... Grid Rounding ensures that the sum of the parts of a dimension line add up to the whole distance. To produce this result, some sections may not be rounded accurately. This is the recommended rounding method and is selected by default. Distance Rounding addresses each section of a dimension line individually, which could result in the sum of these sections not being equal to the whole. This option is selected by default for files created in Version 8 or prior but is not recommended for newer files. See Compatibility With Previous Versions. Note that when using distance rounding your dimensions may not add up, so it may not be the best idea in most circumstances.
  8. You can also force what you are trying to see by breaking that string into 3 separate dimension and setting the one in question to a smallest fraction of 1/1. I don't think that would be a very good idea though.
  9. Your problem is that the dimension in question is part of a string and the numbers in those strings have to add up. The dimension on the opposite side of that window is just under a 3/4" increment which is forcing it to round to 1/2". Therefore, your problem dimension is forced to round to 1/2". Change your dimension defaults so that the smallest fraction is 1/4" and it makes more sense.
  10. Might be a better way, but the first thing that came to mind was just to place a break in that wall, make a copy of your wall definition for the short section (so the definition is technically the same but they are 2 different wall types). Drag that small section over so that its really short...maybe just to the center of that adjacent wall...and then make your connections.
  11. To date, I have never experienced that. I wonder if its one of your Windows settings that affects the clipboard that's causing the problem.
  12. I think you should attach the plan.
  13. Default Settings>CAD>General CAD
  14. Looks like you problem is that you copy and pasted both of Joe's suggested macros...including the "or". I believe it is one or the other, not that whole thing.
  15. Didn't really give a ton of thought to your whole list, I think you're probably right about the rest, but this one in particular stood out to me because we definitely CAN do this.
  16. Steve, there are plenty of different setting that will get you your desired results. Yours are actually fine as they are. Just click the "Align With Wall Above/Below" tool. I suspect you made changes to your wall definitions after you built them and then just never realigned.
  17. Thank you Greg! I didn't actually expect anybody to make one for me. That was excessively kind of you :-). I'm away from the office right now. More likely than not I actually won't get around to using it till tomorrow sometime. Thanks again for taking the time Greg.
  18. Thanks David. I actually personally prefer modeling things like that in Chief myself and I'll do that if I have to. I was just hoping perhaps somebody might be able to save me a little time if they already had one they were willing to share.
  19. Anyone happen to have a symbol for the sink in the attached pic or know where I could find one? I'm just hoping to save a little modelling time if possible. Already checked the manufacturer website as well as the 3D warehouse. Thanks for looking.
  20. No, not a snow load thing. I was one of the few framers I knew of who did it that way. Not many people really knew how. Its actually pretty complicated if you're not mathematically minded. If you can do the math though its really pretty stinking fast and clean. I just sheathed that whole side of the roof, did the math, popped my lines, installed clips or sleepers, set all the trusses, installed rat runs as necessary and sheathed it. If a person couldn't do the math, its really a lot more complicated than you might think to get them aligned. It was my preferred method though.
  21. Sorry, don't know what to tell you. Works fine for me. Here's a copy of the PDF. See how this looks on your end. I'm thinking this is probably one for tech support. Arsenic2-Layout.pdf
