Without a plan it would be hard to tell. I guess you may have messed with the materials, used painter or assigned materials type directly.

Change wall to ponywals set 4', click outside of the building create molding polyline, use blank polyline to create the ledge right above the ponywalls.

Suggestions for client measuring walls?
BrownTiger replied to Richard_Morrison's topic in General Q & A
Why not use printable grid paper ... https://www.waterproofpaper.com/graph-paper/grid-paper.shtml -
You probably want to explain exactly what are you trying to do... Because like %width% is a decimal, and so are owner.width, or referenced.width. See code column

@Brown Tiger. I've found dragging the diamond along the interior wall eventually finds the center but I'd just like to know if there is a simple location instead of dragging the mouse until it snaps Come on. drag straight and slightly down. It takes only one second

It works fine. Assuming in your settings Dimension>Dimensions>Currently Active Dimensions Default>Edit>Locate Objects> Wall Options = Both sides Walls = Walls Dimension Layer Locate Framing Centers are Checked. Lets say I want to move edge to edge manual dimension to a wall CL. When I move a diamond app draws the centerline in the middle of the wall. Once intersected, move the diamond along the centerline and let it snap do not try to snap at the intersectopn. Done.

Did you saved a copy of the corrupt DLL?
-
Same here, for all applications. Sometimes encryption software as well causing this issue, where file(s) are improperly encrypted. The problem manifests when application is actively using the resource such as a shared library (DLL) while encryption or AV software attempt to scan or encrypt it. I support large financial system (with McAfee HBSS and drive encryption installed on every PC) and we have seen this again and again. I would recommend OP to save a corrupted DLL and un-corrupted for troubleshooting purposes.

So are you saying that the file [DLL] was really missing on your file system? And the reason you got the error was CA could not load shared DLL, because of file not found?

Here is updated porch. I do not 100% understand how it is suppose to work. Here is a foundation that I would like to hold down 4"" from unfinished floor +6" over foundation wall. Porch room definition And below support I get 5 1/2" gap because CA assumes that there will be a ceiling structure support. So how can this be fixed?

What in the heck I am doing wrong?

Have you tried updating windows 10 to 1703? The DLL you are struggling with provides Unicode support.

I want to know how can we can make this type of walk in closet shelves with auto labeling is there any manufacturer catalog we can use or we can make it from default chief cabinet tool. 1) I would first find suitable 3D symbol: "Closet Shelf w/ Rod" or "Closet shelf". 2) Labels can be updated at any time, or you can set the label and add modified symbol to a user libray... 3) If you can not live with 2D representation of 3D block for the symbol you are selected, 2D cad blocks can be modified and again saved to your library .. https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00805/editing-2d-cad-blocks-assigned-to-3d-symbols.html

Or you can use CA support for multiple templates in a layout file. Create A-template, M-template, and T template. After page is created assign appropriate template.

You can see that the real tab is "General [dark gray indicator], the "label" blue color indicates mouse over hover.

>do however feel as though CA library options and materials are a bit dated. 80% of what is available looks like it is from the 90's. It is true that many items appear dated, however they are needed for remodel.

ladycoralie, Here is pretty good article, I posted on the other forum, to help with the design and positioning. http://fitzpatrickkeller.com/design-home/

Are you trying to benchmark real world app like ChiefArchitect and or your system synthetics/perceived benchmarks (Cinebench) - measures Cinema 4D performace. Because Cinebench rendering is different from ChiefArchitect. If later, take a plan adjust it as you would render your own project, place a camera, run your passes, post your plan and results with the saved cameras. >1. I was writing to 2 drives (I should know better) THis depends, having to drive may improve or cause adverse effect. Using busy system drive could be detrimental. SSD are definitely faster.

Could you just define the new layout >> File>Print>Drawing Setup Sheet > Custom .. 24" x 48" Return to plan >> Send to layout >> Select the appropriate scale. Enjoy. I am not an architect and this is my hobby
-
You have three options: your current plan, separate plan file, or layout. Some could make a library symbol. Choose whatever works better for you. It could depend on typo of details. e.g. Windows flashing, shear, legal... I suspect it may not make much difference as far as performance.

>I'm attaching my floorplan to view and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how I could do it better please Not sure, but are you asking about, how you can improve technical chief architect skills, or overall floorplan, documenting, sections?? I saw you posting 3 different floorplans, all ICF >Can you explain what you mean by bowling alleys Long, dark, narrow hallways are wasted space. A lot of designers avoid them. >It is going to be built on a sloping block. North East aspect for Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. Sub tropical climate with cool winters due to a little elevation. Winds are mostly from the East, North East and South East. Nice, but what would really help, if you open CA library and search for "North" and place that symbol in your plan.....
