Okay.... Thanks. I will go have a look at what you did.

Thanks for the information, but I tried it. Didn't work for me. Being a newbie I started out just dragging the brick material down to the terrain to cover the slab only to find out that it was dragging the wall frame down with it. While it gives me the look I want its not technically correct. Here is the plan if you want to have a look. https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/m6yl31x3hd479s8g52evh/2000SF-Lily-Plan.plan?rlkey=ec6z4he43kd1kpw4qywmvkklj&st=y0zwc6c9&dl=0 Im sure I am missing something. Hey folks I am trying to figure out how to extend my brick pony wall down over the face of my slab in my drawings. I have watched this video from CA, but it doesn't work. I have even created just a standard siding wall enclosure and I can't get the cladding to extend down. https://www.chiefarchitect.com/videos/watch/257/extend-siding-over-foundation-slab.html?playlist=88#:~:text=Use wall settings to extend the siding, sheathing layers down over the foundation slab. Is there some trick to this process that I am missing? Thanks Shane

Thanks. Good to know. Shane

Can the size on the room label be suppressed? For me there are times it makes no sense for the size to be included. Thanks Shane

Okay all. I have figured out the best way to accomplish this now..... One thing I can't figure out... How do you get the footings to display on the foundation plan from these walls? Footing layer is on for level "0" but footings from floor walls are not showing like the perimeter footings. Thanks Shane

Gotcha. Thanks Shane

These are both great ideas. I have tried both..... When you add either, how do you get the footing layers to show on the foundation plan? Also, how do you setup the invisible wall not to cut out the ceiling drywall where it connects? Thanks Shane

Construction here is mostly block up slab. I have been successful in creating the exterior footings and CMU walls. now I am trying to figure out how to do a brace beam OR thickened slab under a load bearing wall. I usually do 16wx16h (bottom to top of slab). I have tried the slab footing tool, but it insists on pushing the footing down level with exterior footing and adding a stem wall, which I don't want. I want the footing to be poured with the slab and thicker under load bearing walls and in other locations (not always under a wall) where I want an interior footing. Anyway, I am sure that this can be done, just not sure of how. Thanks Shane

Brick is a very dominant exterior material on homes where I am from. I have built some profiles for brick soldiers and sills on windows to accommodate. I am running into some issues... The soldier material displayed in camera compresses or stretches the soldier image instead of repeating it like the regular brick pattern. Over a standard width window it looks great, but over a wide door it looks terrible. See the attached image for what I am talking about. Anyway, I'm sure I'm missing something. Thanks in advance.

This is the roof over the porch where i want the dormers.

All... Newbie here.... What is the best way to create an attic dormer? I have a plan i am working on that has two decorative dormers over the front porch into the attic. When i use the dormer tool it complains about a wall being in the way, which I guess its referring to the wall separating the porch and living space. That wall does not even go into the attic so I am not sure what the issue is. Thanks in advance for any tips on this. Shane

Thanks. I will try this.

I am a new user and was wanting to get some best practices when putting together a roof plan with multiple pitches. it appears that the roof tools do a really good job until you get into a roof with multiple pitches. The particular roof (8:12) I am working on has multiple gables with a higher pitched one (14/12) in the front. I have tried multiple techniques to get this to work. I have broken the wall up as some training vids show, but the roof still does resolve the way intended. For the higher pitched roof I also want the porch roof to die into the side of it where the dropped eave created by the steeper pitch. I realize that there may be some extra work needed to get the look I want.... With all the variables relating to the roof I just want to make sure I'm adjusting the correct ones. OR in the off chance that there is a better way to accomplish what I am wanting.
