YOU ARE A DREAMER DERMOT ..... you are here often enough to know better than to even make the post above claiming there are no issues with X14.....or X13 before it for that matter..... it's been reported here dozens of time, by MANY different people and is costing people thousands of Dollars, and you just continue to spit out the Company Line on this ...... that CA has No Known Issues...... I call B.S. on that statement, having had to give a Client just this week a 20% discount on my time to keep them happy, what's all this cost you Dermot ? $0.00 is my guess, in fact my guess is you are racking in the Overtime in an effort to fix all the (non-existent) Issues.... Funny how for the last 15 - 20 yrs Chief has recommended to always scrap old Templates and rebuild them in the latest Version and suddenly YOU are saying it is no longer a recommended Practice, even though the Linked PDF you provided, says otherwise.....It's pretty sad that Chief doesn't even update the Default Templates for End Users each Version themselves, as I can't see how that is even possible for a User to do on our own.... Someone else Shortcuts might not be yours , so better to do it yourself. My Route maybe a bit longer than necessary , but Open With.... couldn't find Excel. Open the .html in WORD > save as .docx file. ( becomes a Table ) Open .docx File in Excel and Save As .xlsx , then colorize and format etc..... save as PDF once done as well if desired. Hotkey.pdf

In the case of the OP example, I had worked on the File all day the previous day with no issues , but opening it the following morning popped up this Error again, seemingly randomly asking for a Font I don't have. I happened with another File later in the week as well , but a totally different Font , so it continues to be an Issue, I can't pinpoint so far, but may have more time this coming week to look into things in more depth. I am used to this opening Others Files , but this error is coming from Files , I've been working on already , in some case for weeks on and off. Thanks, Mick.

Well it seems even Chief's Templates are not X14 Built , so bringing Plans forward may continue to be an issue , at least for some of Us. With this as a known Issue you'd think this would be one thing they would of updated......

Closing the View and Reopening should do it , as it should go back to Default....

Perhaps the Walls, Railings Layer in each view? Mick.

I agree ALL models should have a Foundation (slab or Stem wall) and Roof Built Auto even for Interior only Projects for the PBR Lighting to work correctly. A 2nd story also works but I'd still let the roof build on it auto as well.

I was thinking large windows , but there may have been supply constraints looking at the Framing as it appears that was the original intent. I am not sure why the wall is almost in the window in the last two photos though? M.

So using Eric's (Solver) Free Tool, (link below- Thanks) it turns out this plan started in X13 , so ( once again ) Plans brought forward maybe the Issue here too. ( Unfortunately Eric was forced to remove his wee program that read the File Version the program was started and last saved in.) Mick. @solver

This sounds like the solution , though designating a Room a Porch should turn the Roof Over this Room on automatically ( and make the Floor a Slab.) Deck ( rooms) on the the other hand don't have roofs by default , but can with the above setting too. The Blue wall is nothing to worry about , it will disappear when the roof builds ...it is because Chief's Walls are always "looking for" the Roof Plane above and i this case it happens to be the Overhang (eave) Mick.

Had the same problems myself , I took a screen grab of it and saved to the Data Folder , as I can never remember the Search terms... M.

Check your Deck has the Auto Framing (Regenerate) ON...... and the Retain Framing box is not Checked M.

Thanks for the Replies , not in a Block as far as I know ( but will check) , as it is always Font's I don't use or even have. this didn't happen in previous Versions , except for the odd Client using a Mac Font eg Helvetica ( windows pc have a redirect to Arial for this built in I believe ) or Andale Mono. the X14 Layout Wall Surface Triangle Lines Issue has come back for me , using thelatest Nvidia Studio Driver in Win.10. anyone else notice this? This is the Layout I am currently doing..... I am losing so much time with X14 between this , the Save Issue , and all the other "little anomalies" ..... 4 of 12 so far....... Mick.

Just curious if anyone else has this Issue , as I am not sure if it's on my end of X14 , though it has only started in X14. the 1st start of a Layout file each day always askes to change the Font and highlights some weird Font I have never used, and isn't even on my System ( why it's asking I presume ) but it is not the same Font every time - it seems totally random. I use Century Gothic a lot and Arial with a lot of my Client Work , so am not sure why this is happening..... *** Unfortunately I can't post Client Plans / Templates on the Forum ..... Mick.

Should be the same thing - Unless the User changes the Data Folder Templates - the ones in the Programs Folder as there so Chief will reinstall them to the Data Folder should the need arise. M.

It should work fine these days but you do need a wall or Cabinet to snap it too, not sure what your 6" Backsplash is in chief. M.

Try moving the Interior Insulation to the Interior Layers ...not the framing (main) layer
