  1. I'd send it into TS for a look , I don't think it is you after a quick look , however the Garage Wall should not run right through to the Corner, it should be broken at the interior corner by the front Door.
  2. If you allowed a "Migration" on upgrading to X14 it will bring over your Old Libraries , toolbars etc but you can run the Library Update and anything you already have installed should be updated to the latest x14 Version. And yes you can download ALL the Libraries' , 400+ now to your External USB Drive, but they do still need to be Installed into Chief. This will save Room on your Computer's Hard-Drive (SSD) storage space .. not the Ram. These Days Chief's Library is pretty efficient and there is no need to install only those Libraries you really need to keep it speedy , you can install as many as needed. I have a PDF List of libraries as of Sept 15th over here : https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/topic/31252-list-of-x14-currently-available-libraries-as-at-sept-15th-2022/
  3. Chief Currently has All there Specialty Libraries available from not only this year but years gone by if you want to grab them... eg : https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/topic/37568-limited-edition-catalog-new-year-traditions/?tab=comments#comment-284934 Look Under Specialty/Other/Misc category CHIEF LIBRARY LINK : M.
  4. This would be the best solution - I would duplicate it in my Template so it always there ie a 2nd Framing,Bearing lines Layer with a dedicated Text Style, done once and just switch when needed for individual Lines, I do the same For Room Labels for example ie Closet labels need to be smaller. Roof

If you are having to use -3 (/12) for the pitch the Roof to make it look right ? the roof plane is facing backwards - ie drawn in the wrong direction..., in Plan view single click the roof plane grab the triangle and spin it 180° , then set the pitch back to 3/12. You could also just Use the ceiling plane tool in the 95" high bathroom , to show the slope above the mirror. Clg Planes draw the same as roof planes.... https://www.chiefarchitect.com/videos/watch/10149/where-to-draw-a-custom-ceiling-plane-inside-or-outside-of-the-room-s-wall.html M.
  6. Oh happy and easy to do, ( C&P to Word > Save as PDF )..... I like to keep instructions in the Folder with the files I download, in case it's months till I get back too it ... and can't find the post anymore Feel free to put a Copy in your 1st Post if you like, you can edit the OP if you're not aware? and add your new instructions post and pics all in the 1st post for someone to find in the future and then delete the other posts to clean it up.... I can delete mine too.... Mick.
  7. This is what I do now... maybe I learnt it from you M.
  8. Thanks again Steve ...... Here is your Starter Kit Instructions in PDF for Others too..... Updated PDF : TwinMotion Starter Kit.pdf All Thanks / Credit to Steve..... Mick.
  9. Just copy/paste the posts above to the Tips Section under 1 Heading which you can update as you learn etc. * You might need to underline the part about putting the Grade folder into the same folder as the TM files, not the files in the Grade Folder as some of us didn't read that part well Downloaded the latest TM 2023.1 to have a play later, it seems your Epic TM account lets you login to SketchFab now too with your Epic Login ( got an auto email, not long a the latest TM finished downloading ) M. Steve's Starter Kit Instructions in PDF Format...... TwinMotion Starter Kit.pdf
  10. In X14 you can make a WallType with a Single Top Plate (STP) but Chief uses the Default of two set in the Framing Defaults.
  11. Haven't yet , been some time since I played with TM , but this might give me a head start if I find some time to play. It is a pity Chief didn't adopt the UE5 Engine as TM looks pretty good these days..... * you might want to copy these Posts to the Tips Forum , instead of leaving them buried here in a Grass thread .... hopefully others will add other Tips and Templates too then. M.
  12. Somewhere on the Symbols Forum there is a 40' Container someone posted a few years ago..... try a search there as CS is correct. M. found a 20' one here : https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/topic/9767-container_20-ft/?tab=comments#comment-85231 and 40' one here : https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/topic/19151-container-swimming-pool/?do=findComment&comment=157296
  13. Smile of the day right there Oh and On Topic , I believe Michael is right , check your layer text settings.... M.
  14. "Treat as Door" I think is checked Auto when you mull doors, at least in the case above it was already on..... However I had forgotten about "Tabbing In" similar to Bay Windows, to show one or both Doors open after mulling, Thx. Yes it would be great if you could simply set the total width , say 60 " , hit Double Door only option and an "Equal" radio button ( On by default) and Chief would just do it's usual thing and split it in 1/2 ( 30" each ) , but it would be great if you had an "Unequal" Radio Button to Check and then (2) boxes ( Right/Left, veiwed from exterior) would be enabled for User defined numbers. M.
  15. Although this works, it's more of a kludge and once Mulled (overlapping the Jambs) you need to open the DBX and fix a number of items, as it's almost as if Chief "thinks" the mulled Unit is now a Window, as you need to turn on the "Sills" to get the Threshold to show again, and I generally find I have to also set the Casing Overlap to a negative number eg. -1/4" so it doesn't hang into the opening. You also can't show them Open in 3D like most doors, so again it's a Window in a Door disguise M.
  16. The problem was never really only related to Windows 11. I've never had 11 for example and still have crashes on a 3080 and 3080Ti and the issue has reared it's head again recently with Nvidia Drivers in the 525.xx and 527.xx Series Drivers but I'm having better luck on 526.86. ( The 522.xx series was bad for many outside Chief User as well so I avoided them too) This is the most recent thread about crashes I think.... https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/topic/37398-is-anyone-else-having-issues-with-a-graphics-card-warning/ M.
  17. You're welcome .... Happy Holidays.... M.
  18. Another Option then is to "insert" the Block , from those already used in the Plan from CAD > Cad Block Management > (select fixture) >Insert > Click in plan to place the block. M.
  19. In the Library , Chief has a "Electrical Legend" which is just a CAD Block , which you can explode if needed for the CAD Symbols ( or Alter as needed.) M.
  20. this should help Ray...... CA should join the two planes easily once setup correctly.... https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-01179/creating-an-attached-porch-or-carport.html or https://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-01086/creating-an-attached-porch.html M.
  21. I'll stick to Chief I think, that 1st pic makes my head spin not being part rocket scientist ............. M. PS Ray you might want to check this CA Announcement before Jan.9th since you are on X12... https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/topic/37322-chief-architect-software-licensing-changes-beginning-january-10-2023/ https://www.chiefarchitect.com/licensing/
  22. putting the error message into google ( rather than the Forum Search) will often find another post about Chief Errors Here on the Forum..... DB is correct by the way , there are a few Kohler symbols with this problem and one option is to export .DAE instead as it has a much higher limit. https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/topic/25591-3ds-export-error/ M.
  23. Could of sworn I tested X13 on my 970 before I sold that system.... so had thought the 900 series was okay , though I think CA now recommends a 1000 series as a minimum. Mick.
  24. As Eric mentioned if you can run X13 , then X14 should be no Issue , the Issue for most was the graphics requirements in the step up from X12 to X13 or X14 with the new 3D Engine ( called Astral) in X13 and up. If your SSAs are paid up , even if not using X14 then you are ok and will have the New Perpetual License as long as you keep paying SSA, let any of them expire and you will have to switch to Subscription ( $200mth / $2000/yr.) ( You can no longer transfer/sell licenses either ) https://www.chiefarchitect.com/licensing/ Mick.
