  1. No Attachments..........but double check that you have Snaps ON , not just set to 1" ( or 1/2" or whatever you prefer )
  2. If it is an Image you should be able to save it as a Material to the Library and Apply it normally via the Room DBX.
  3. Reference Layer with only Stairs and Ramps Turned on perhaps? M.
  4. You are correct BT, I tried opening the .json Chief saves directly in the hope of comparing your new and old code yesterday and of course got all the hidden text etc etc. The Font Size is way too small to work with easily if you aren't a 20 something anymore I did not think about using a simple copy and paste to NP++ (or even windows NP?) from the Edit DBX and back again if needed. I believe the Help System uses QT framework too and it has a Zoom function , so I wonder why it hasn't been implemented in the TMM/TMM Edit DBX. I have Suggested several times that Chief allow us to Change the Font to our liking through the Program as , at the moment only parts of it respond to the Windows Font settings , maybe in X12 since we got Themes in X11....... Mick.
  5. Oh Wow , interesting ...that would be bad unless it has other Ports like VGA or Display Port , assuming they don't have the same issue. I assume it has Bios 1.12 ? it's old, Dec. 2016 , but may correct some issues if yours is not upto date. M.
  6. Wow Acer is brutal , there isn't a single hit for your particular Intel HD 530 on the Microsoft Update Catalog, which explains why it says you are upto date, lots for other brands eg Lenovo , with the PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_191B GFX Card but generally they won't install without the full number. Found some Info back on 10Forums ( great Site for all things Windows 10 ) here for your CPU and HD 530 in the 2nd section for Gen.6 Chips. https://www.tenforums.com/graphic-cards/14192-latest-intel-graphics-driver-windows-10-a.html Know that you download any drivers at your own risk and as it seems the Driver type has changed from Standard to the Modern DCH Drivers make sure to download the .EXE version NOT the .zip version here : https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/29113/Intel-Graphics-Windows-10-DCH-Drivers DO NOT PROCEED WITHOUT A FULL IMAGE BACKUP with a rescue disk/usb made and tested.....PLEASE I use Macrium Reflect Free for this purpose , do a search on 10Forums if you need it, for more info, or have a local computer store do it all for you.... M.
  7. Nope -- an upgrade has been suggested. I use Notepad++ to edit. Hi Eric what settings in NP++ do you use to display .json files correctly ? currently it is just one long line and wordwrap doesn't format , just wraps to window. I can't remember what I did to get it to display Arduino Files properly , so hope you can remember what .json needs.... Thanks, Mick.
  8. One Idea........If you put the Macro %scale% in a Text Box in Plan (not Layout) you won't need the ruler as you zoom in and out.... M.
  9. Details Tab >Hardware ID Dropdown> ( see my pic above) ....copy and paste the PCI/Ven Code info back here please... Also what is the EXACT Model Number of your Acer Nitro Laptop please , it is not in your Signature after all. M.
  10. Ultimate is not an option on Laptops , but High should be, though some laptop manufacturers seem to disable all but balanced. https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/110372-restore-missing-default-power-plans-windows-10-a.html
  11. Locally all Guardrails are 42" including Residential, while Stair railings are 36" M.
  12. This does work but I do the opposite, using a manually placed Railing on a Staircase the same width as the Newel (3.5") , this narrow staircase is a copy of the wide (normal) staircase which once setup is dropped vertically 10 -12" ( bottom height) to make it appear as if the Posts go down the side of the Stringers ( add 10 -12" to the Railing height to allow for this ) , this narrow staircase can be placed on it own layer and turned off in 3D or Section views or / and the materials changed to Opening-No Material to make it invisible. Use a Room divider at the Top to stop the Railing joining the Deck Wall if needed , for example if you used the Deck Edge tool for the Deck and your Railing Symbols Gene. This is using the Chief default Cable Railing, the manual railing is on the Right .... the left is a symbol made from the right hand Railing set to reference the Terrain. The Deck railings above are your Symbols Gene.... it seems you made the Post and 2x4 top rail as one piece in SU so it is not possible to turn the Grain on it like the 2x6 Top Cap component piece.
  13. Intel's Scanner is next to useless in many cases , I am not sure why , it doesn't work with my Surface 3 and didn't work with a laptop I had for a short time a year ago either and both have intel Graphics etc etc. Show me the Hardware Tab from Device Manager for the INTEL Display adapter and I do a Search..... This shows where to find it ...as you can see I DON'T have an intel card in my Desktop.... I need the PCI\VEN Numbers for your Intel Card
  14. Updating Intel Drivers Via the Device Manager is not always successful ... it isn't if it is still showing 2016 guaranteed. Check the Manufacturer's Website for updates etc too and lastly you may need to get it direct from Intel. Graham has a good point about the Power Plan and Power Settings in the NVCP
  15. You may need to call Tech Support on Monday if you have Told CA to use the NVidia Card in the NVCP and it isn't , then I am not sure why. I would look into updating your Intel Driver too as perhaps it is at fault and not releasing , so the NV Card can't take over like it should in 3D etc M.
  16. The Driver Version in Chief is showing the Intel GFX Driver number it looks like ? have you updated it too recently? In Device Manager does the Display Driver for the Nvidia Card say 440? In the Manage 3D App scroll all the way down and make sure the OpenGL is set to the Nvidia Card too...
  17. shouldn't need to do anything really , you can try in the NVCP on the manage 3D tab Add CA as a Program. being a laptop you may need to force the Preferred card to be the Nvidia Card so CA uses it all the time , down side maybe lower Battery time though, not an issue if plugged in in the Office though.
  18. Thanks Chopsaw , you are right, it was my editing for readability that broke it. It seems it needs to be Coded your way (and BT's see new macros) too populate the Table with a Total. M.
  19. Thanks for the Follow Up BT and the new/updated Macros The new Room Label Code and the Code for splitting out Different Room Types works great. ** Is there a way to force the Room sort Order eg alphabetically or by Room type per Floor would be best if also possible *** Note to Others , once you put the new Room Code Macro into the Default Room Label ( put it on Line 2 in the label DBX) make sure to go into Existing Rooms in the Plan and toggle the "Show Label" box off and back on, then close the DBX to get it to refresh and report the Room Types to your new Garage, Porch, Decks etc Tables ( and add the CLG HGT to the room label. M.
  20. If you have just those 4 to do I would just use a P-Solid and copy and paste to each section , however if it is a Rail Style you use a lot I would likely make myself a Railing Panel and save it to my Library. https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-02893/creating-custom-balusters-and-railing-panels.html https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-01029/specifying-glass-or-cable-railing-panels.html
  21. Thanks Gene, nicely done, I misunderstood what the two .skp files were, I thought they was the left and right corners without the straight 4' part above. M.
  22. Okay sounds like I need to reinstall Notepad++ I have played a little with different languages over the years, most recently a little Arduino so I tend to always leave myself lots of Notes in the Code so I know where I got it from and it maybe 5 years till I look at the code again and I won't remember what I did ..... With ruby I know a little bit of syntax etc and a few commands eg rounding stuff but don't really understand what is happening where, so lots of trail and error, I certainly can't do what Joe , BT , Micheal or Even Eric can. You are more than welcome to try these macros in their present state..... happy to share ...... Room and Roof Sqft Macros for Table.json no warranty given or implied
  23. Thanks Gene , did you mean to attach the 4ft section you made above to go with these ? or did I miss it somewhere? M.
  24. Hmmm I did try that but I get an Eval. Error, will try changing the context but not sure if it is related to the fact I split the Macro into individual lines for easier reading (and inserting of tabs) earlier. Am I right thinking there is a trick to making text larger in the TMM Edit window? ---- size 8 font just don't cut it anymore M.
