  1. As you save them to your 2TB drive in the future , DON"T change the name of the file it downloads with, this (can) causes Chief's Auto Update feature not to update those Libraries in the future , at least that was my experience in past versions, and I was told me giving some of them more descriptive names was the cause. M.
  2. I tend not to use the 2D/3D images either actually but most people do like them. M.
  3. If you are going to call Tech Support in the Morning , DO NOT DO THE FOLLOWING.... let them look at the situation 1st. You read the warning right ? and from now on make sure to save all downloads on a USB drive or similar.... do you still have x11 installed? new in X12 is an option to re-run the Migration in Preferences > Reset , maybe worth a shot , just uncheck everything except the libraries. If it brings them over , then go to Library > Update Catalogs and it should update them all to the most current X12 files. M.
  4. Make a dedicated Saved Plan View set for the Foundation Level ( copy Working Plan View) and make a dedicated Layerset for it ( copy the Working Layer Set ) and control exactly what layers you want to show in that new SPV. SPV Videos : https://www.chiefarchitect.com/search/?default_tab=video&q=saved+plan+views M.
  5. Using the "Scale from Plan" ( something close to that name , can't check right now) in the Schedule DBX sometimes helps sizing issues of the Symbols *** The setting is Use Plan View Scale M.
  6. I guess you could draw you own but Chief Symbols come with 2D CAD Blocks I'd start there as Joey mentioned over on the 3D library pages.... PLANTS IN THE 3D LIBRARY
  7. Did you make a lookout , save it to your library , and then bring it back in ? , not sure if it works in your situation but it's how I do Purlins ( Roof Battens) when needed now..... This is a thread from Last year with links to a video by Michael for his "Use of a Lookout" as a Purlin etc.... https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/topic/20877-roof-profiles/?do=findComment&comment=172082
  8. Also make sure you haven't accidently Filtered Manufacturers out, if you are using Filters ...in the search bar at the top of the library. this may help too.... https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00091/backing-up-and-restoring-library-content.html M
  9. For colors Chief doesn't let you apply easily like this you can just use the BM RGB numbers ( or Hex on Mac too) from their Website ( or any manufacturer eg SW instead) and put them into the Color Box manually or even color pick them from a wall you already changed manually to the desired color within Chief. Then save it to your Library for later use.... This is a website that has this info too .....they are selling paint but the info needed is there too....https://encycolorpedia.com/e7e5e0
  10. That would be great thx.....I see so many posts on Forums with no real resolutions at the end as People don't post back with a yes it worked ! (or not...) M.
  11. There are differences for MAC vs PC , but it appears Eric has moved his Win 10 Documents or User Folder to his D:\ drive. ( data drive ) this is fairly common especially if you have a small SSD for eg. 128 or 256GB and want more space for Programs, they would normally be on C:\ Drive. Personally I have also moved my Pictures, Videos, Music and other "Library" folders to my Data Drive as well. https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/74952-move-location-documents-folder-windows-10-a.html https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/74942-move-location-pictures-folder-windows-10-a.html https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/74966-move-location-music-folder-windows-10-a.html
  12. No problem , sorry if that came over wrong..... but sometimes the Version Influences the answer which is why we recommend people put it in their Signature , I suspect you had X8 not V8 too ( 5 years ago?) M.
  13. I actually like that Idea and not just from a Labels issues standpoint.... M.
  14. Thanks Dermot , I knew I had been in a thread abut this before , I'll pass on the info from the thread, thanks.
  15. You have X12 ( v22 ) not V12 ( there was no version 12, that was X2) .......... looking at your pic..... and the Send to Layout , with the Option to make a new Layout Set Option Box Larry posted was removed several versions ago, we both thought you maybe using an Older Version than the latest.
  16. That was my thought too Larry..... I think they removed that in X9 or X10 ( I had long since disabled it though) but Michael has not updated his Forum Signature with the version in Use.
  17. I also have several different ones in my Library , and will try them if Chief's one isn't "playing nice" M.
  18. I seem to remember this one from those past threads Thanks Maureen , I'll have to check with them , that could of been the Issue...... Mick.
  19. Hmmmm I didn't think to ask I assumed X12 so will check.... M.
  20. There is a bug in Windows 10 2004 causing Printer Issues , personally my computer doesn't have W10-2004 yet though , BUT I thought Microsoft had fixed it? perhaps do some Googling if you are fully upto date with Win10 Updates. eg: https://www.windowslatest.com/2020/06/19/windows-10-kb4567523-for-version-2004/
  21. I saw something similar in another User's Plan yesterday ALL the labels where showing through the walls, ie for cabinets, appliances, fixtures etc , so I guess that is a different Issue? I just turned them all off in elevation but was surprised they showed through the Wall to begin with. M.
  22. This always happens if Chief senses a structural change between rooms ie two different Ceiling Heights , it assumes a wall is needed at the height change for example, even though it is technically invisible in this case. M.
  23. yep understand....... if people don't report these little "bugs" then they won't get fixed ......
  24. You need to change the Plumb/ Straight Option for that , it it the straight Option causing the issue . Using a 2x6 Rafter tail should work though..... Mick.
  25. if others concur please send it into Tech Support so they can have a look at it and get it added to the list... Make the sub fascias 9.25", same as the rafter and it works fine..... with either option.....( make fascia 11.25" too) M.
