...instead of part of the child camera menu?

The design is possible but I tried for at least an hour chasing trusses that would not build and floors that would not show and...you know the drill in Chief...and decided it was time to fold 'em and get on with the job. Of course it only took 20 minutes to detail the section by hand but live and learn...

Thanks for taking your time to respond Curt but have a very different condition. Gave up and am drawing the sections by hand.

We want to drop the trusses down inside of a ballooned framed parapet wall EDIT: with a 1/4" / 12 slope. No need to get exact with inside ledgers but the basics would be nice for a section cut that looks correct. Tried dropping the roof plane down but needed to raise the floor to get the walls up high enough. Should I put on another floor above?

As I mentioned, same here, but any new elevation or cross section requires you remember to change Anno Sets or Active defaults instead of being able to set the defaults in errr...defaults?

Oh wait you asked about spreadsheets and perhaps macros in Chief?

Spread sheets can be imported/pasted but lose their functionality...

That's pretty cool me thinks Joe. I simply show the results in a text box but a spreadsheet is a good idea. Not sure how to avoid the cut and paste which I guess is the only down side?

Yes annotations, notes etc. only live on a cross section or elevation and those in my case are almost all sent to Layout in some form but you've got me thinking...does it matter which Anno Set or active defaults are used? I think it does as you can then determine all of those settings in active defaults to control dimensions text etc. in your drawing. The confusing part to me is why there's no way to set up a default Anno Set (only default Layer Set) and the active defaults cannot be set up as defaults either?

Weird, they show as invalid but seem to work as a label in a P line box... as they we designed to do? Moving on quickly as macros are of very little help to my small mind...

Wow they are all now broken and no longer valid in some way. Pretty sure why I don't use macros much....

I don't use macros much and a very few but I went to use them and now get evaluation errors with no changes from this end. Looks like something has changed from invalid names to again eval errors. Is there a new format required? Do I need to recreate? Here's simplest area_Rounded again forced to rename so maybe that's a clue?

I haven't done (or needed) much maintenance on my Cameras but was flummoxed when I couldn't find a setting...That blows a little. I'll see what Eric has to say.

Every time I cut a new elevation or cross section the ANNO set box is loaded with active defaults that I can't use and need to be changed with every new Elevation. I have a template plan where the Elevation cameras are set to the correct Anno Set but every new elevation requires manually re-setting the active defaults or choosing another Anno Set? Missing something?

Can it be done? I can see where the Layer Set can be set in defaults but can't see a place to set a Default ANNO set?

Again, I don't doubt your analysis, just wish Chief had some verification somewhere to make buying a new system easier. Referring to older posts/articles by Chief about not requiring that much RAM because Chief doesn't/can't access it and your experience showing the more RAM the better...
