  1. Thanks Dermot, I take a while to get up to speed sometimes.
  2. Like I said, bad at explaining things. Thanks anyway but not what I was asking/looking for.
  3. Turns out Note Schedules were indeed changed for X12. Under 'Categories to Include' there's drop down under the 'Note' category that includes/excludes note types.
  4. What I'm seeing does not say Note Schedule Specification in the upper left, only says Schedule Specification with Notes Schedule as the default title.
  5. At around 1:12 in the X11 training video the note schedule dbx shows up when selected and the type of note can be selected as I remember. When I select the Note Schedule I don't get the same dbx. https://www.chiefarchitect.com/videos/watch/91/using-notes-note-schedules.html?playlist=106 Here's the dbx as shown in the vid able to select the type of note. When I select a Note Schedule I see this second pic with no ability to select a note 'type'. What am I missing?
  6. Thanks, not sure what that means but am sure I can't explain things very well. What about the original question. Is there a way to get the numbers to rotate along with the text in a schedule?
  7. Probably not explaining myself very well and I've attached a plan and Layout that shows my current strategy, which I may have to abandon. yOUtUBE IS MESSING WITH MY sNAGIT SOFTWARE BUT WILL POST WHEN i CAN. Untitled 3.layout Untitled_5.plan https://youtu.be/AIsgkN6S8qs
  8. Yeah tried the layout, the text box, the Text style, and everything else I could think of. Can you get it to work? Get the numbers to rotate with the schedule?
  9. Yeah tried that a hundred different ways but the numbers don't rotate along with the schedule or at least I can't get them to. User error? Decent chance for sure.
  10. Thanks Robert, I do that with my Window and Door Schedules but find having the Note Schedule in the plan allows for quick and easy note changes while in plan view instead of a separate CAD Detail. May have to abandon my ways. Perhaps the answer to my initial question is No?
  11. Thanks Joe but some of my schedules are part of the plan view like the attached. Then I send the plan to Layout and rotate it there and the notes don't follow. Might be missing something basic.
  12. Probably a dumb one but is there a way to rotate the note numbers within a note schedule as it's rotated? Been trying every setting I can find but am missing something. Keep getting this after rotating the schedule. But want the numbers to rotate/orient like the text Thanks
  13. Always learn something from your vids Eric...
  14. If you cut the roofs and 'join' them through the valleys instead of overbuilding them you will get more consistent Roofs, Overhang Area lines but just turning that layer off is smart in most all cases and less confusing in plan view.
  15. Actually it's the Roofs, Overhang Area layer. Which is one of those Chief layers like 'ceiling break lines' that cannot be selected in Chief even when unlocked.
  16. What happens if you make those 2 roof pitches the same? With the same base line height? Then joined them all?
  17. Found this, if your labels are generated by the poly line label dbx.
  18. That's what I do, and simply refer to the truss(es) as 'per plan' or 'per layout and calcs'. It's made sense and hasn't seemed to confuse anyone for the last 20 or so odd years. Just another way to do things.
  19. It's possible to draw the trusses in Chief but without an accurate layout and truss design from the truss company drawing in the correct trusses at this stage is a crap shoot and your sections will most likely not be accurate. One method you could use to get your sections (not for the purists) is to wait for the truss designs and layout. You can then cut your sections, toggle off ceiling joist framing and roof rafter framing and draw in a representation of a truss in the newly cut section. If there's furnace, storage or other unique areas in the truss design you can refer to the truss designs for those areas and draw in the trusses according to those specific truss designs. Again not for the purists, and that has its down sides of course, but it might give you a chance to get the sections accurate enough without getting each truss exactly perfect in Chief.
  20. Wanted to share another experience and express my gratitude for all the help in this thread. Another plan had an attic wall that wasn't drawing correctly but now I knew how to fix it. NICE...
  21. I disagree. There's a lot of 'winning' with threads like these and help from fellow users like yourself. I win every time I open a thread like this and learn just a little bit more about Chief. And as always thank you for your, and everyone's help.
