  1. I think those are really nice renders and a nice design. The only thing I see, since I love to cook is there's very little counter space around the range - that would make me a little nuts. I hope that's the kind of feedback you are asking for?? Again nice job.
  2. It might be a bit like the letter you write expressing your frustrations and then re-reading it and tossing the letter instead of sending it. I've done that more than once here on the forum. Not sayin' it's the proper form but checking one's self before sending/posting some things can be very good for the soul.
  3. Curious David, why did you post this? Did you think it was helpful in some way? Do you read and edit your posts before/after you post them? Is this really what you think this forum is for? You are aware (I hope) that "I have tried everything" is merely a figure of speech that does not have to be taken literally? Aren't you? I recently told my wife I would meet her down at the store. Was the store actually 'down' from where I was? Should I have STUDIED each location's altitude and then modified my statement to say "up" at the store if indeed, through my diligent study, I discovered that I was indeed wrong, I had not though of everything, and the store was actually higher than our current location? Perhaps, "I have tried everything I can think of," might satisfy your need to belittle those who are currently not as expert as yourself in the software? Probably not. I'm not sure how you see the purpose of these forums but I see them as a place to help others, not a place to preach to others the correct way to use and interpret the English language. I'm just not sure your post helps anyone, other than your self and some frustration that most likely does not belong here. As a mater fact I'm not sure my post helps anyone other than myself and some frustration that most likely doesn't belong here. I'll think about that a bit and perhaps delete this post upon further self examination.
  4. I assume you meant 'plan' above? I really hope a faster computer solves the issue for you Scott. I upgraded my computer to the fastest chips that were available for my Mother Board and saw almost no improvement in my couple of problem plans. Your case might be different, just keep your expectations low and you might be pleasantly surprised.
  5. Yes Joe, Thanks. An unneeded, unnecessary step and an overlooked feature IMO.
  6. fixed... What good is a brand new shiny template plan that only shows a small part of the work you've put in to it by setting up Plan Views? Thanks Joe
  7. Probably something simple but I close a plan with various plan views, then open the plan with only a single plan view open. Is there a preference to open all the plan views with each plan/open command?

  9. You can also import the picture directly in to the plan file and position/size where you like, create a separate layer for your pic and turn layer on/off at will.
  10. SWEET - Thanks for taking the time to reply - appreciate it.
  11. Curious Perry, Have you (or anyone) incorporated the plan views in to your template plan?
  12. I always wanted a way to change floors to the foundation level when I changed the Anno Set to my Foundation Anno Set and it was always a 2 step process both down to the foundation and back up to the main floor. With a foundation plan set it changes floors and Anno Sets together with one simple step. SWEET!!
  13. ...was wondering if the X10 gurus have their plan templates set up with the new plan views in separate tabs? Or what the best practice might be for using that new 'plan view' tool?
  14. BRILLIANT (pun intended) - I think that was it. I had the automatic 8 light max checked. Unchecked and voila. THANK YOU very much.
  15. Thanks Mark but you are actually describing the problem. I have one and sometimes 2 of the under cabinet areas that light correctly 're-using' (copying) the light that works in to all 3 areas. One camera view will show the 2 areas lit as in the beginning of the video shows, then another camera view only shows the one area lit, but never all 3 at the same time. Were you able to view the vid or was your advice (much appreciated as always) just general PB Rendering advice?
  16. I sent this in to tech as I can't seem to get consistent results with some lighting in this plan when using the physically based render. NICE feature BTW but I wonder if there's something easy I'm missing? SOLVED - I had the default 8 light max limit checked in the camera. Unchecked and it works great. Thanks to Mark Mc physical rendering 1.zip
  17. Thank Mark - appreciate you taking the time.
  18. A bit confused with the terms...The way I understand it RayTracing requires a separate RayTrace command with its own settings and takes time or passes to come up with a result. And the 'Physical Rendering' is a setting or function of the 3D rendering engine within Chief. If that's correct are the pictures we are seeing here the results of a RayTraced Chief model? Or screen shots/pictures of a physically Rendered model? They look good either way and nice job but am curious as to what we are seeing. Thanks
  19. Ah found it - much appreciated. Also see how to adjust hue for the physically based cameras as well.Thank you
  20. I see different rendering techniques and an Ambient Occlusion slider but no real useful shading settings. Missing something or the feature has been changed?
  21. Thanks Michael When you say the settings live within the cameras themselves I assume I would right click the camera, open it and there are settings there? I THINK I can open the camera but see no settings that resemble the old ambient etc. Do the camera settings behave differently? And how would I lighten a scene in general that I used to lighten with the 'ambient' settings? Am I in the correct dbx to do so?
  22. I'm using the public Beta - pretty sure there's no NDA involved.
