  1. Can someone offer some tips for exterior renderings. Mine look bland, dull and plain. I honestly don't know if it's some settings or me or a combination of the two. There must be some magic tricks to great looking renderings. I'm about ready to hang up some dead chickens and garlic around the office.
  2. Perry, Maybe we should start posting our macros in a new thread for the benefit of the herd.
  3. I don't know what kind of construction expertise you guys have in your area, but the local framers around here have a hard enough time reading the whole numbers on a tape measure, much less than understanding what those little ticks and lines between the numbers mean.
  4. I may be interested. Can you send a sample plan of what you are looking for to: mcrump@spectrum-inc.com
  5. I own two companies. Creative Concepts is a residential design firm and Spectrum Enterprises, Inc. performs strictly commercial design. I have had both companies for over 24 years. Commercially, the only thing we don't do are hospitals, prisons, and high rise buildings.
  6. Luke, Don't go over to the dark side. Stay in the lighttt.t...t.....t.......
  7. I want to import a pdf to use as an exterior wall sign. What is the best way to accomplish this? Thanks!
  8. Hey Ozgur, When you import into lumion and render, do you get good screen resolution? Take a look at this video. At about 0:21 seconds look at the muntins that divide the window glass. See what I'm talking about?
  9. Nope. You have to export from Chief as a DWG, DXF, DAE, FBX, MAX, 3DS, OBJ, or SKP, then import into Lumion.
  10. Thank you! Getting old is a real beoch.
  11. What I can't figure out is drawing the bearing in degrees, minutes and seconds. It's got to be somewhere - I just can't find it.
  12. How do I input the length and angle in order to draw a boundary lines using surveyor's units? Thanks for any input.
  13. I never use Chiefs electrical connection for line work. What I do is change the current cad layer to electrical connections and then use arcs to make my connections. I found that I can control arcs a whole lot better than I can Chiefs electrical connection arcs.
  14. The moldings above the doors - what was your procedure.
  15. When I dimension a single room with the interior dimension tool I get dimension ticks but if I pull the dimension across several rooms I only get the ticks at the beginning and end of the dimension string and no ticks at the interior walls. Is this a bug or a setting?
  16. SC adopted the 2012 building codes July 1 of 2012 but did not adopt the 2012 Model Energy Code when they found out that if you use ResCheck to do your analysis the only way you can meet the requirements are by having 2 steel insulated doors, no windows, 6" R-19 perimeter walls and R-3,000 in the attic. Like a friend of mine said, "If the government tries to run it, it will be as "blanked" up as a football bat". Ain't it the truth!
  17. Either Dragunov Tigers or Kalashnikov AK-47's. SWEET!!!
