Isn't this what you are looking for? Friends also did it for you in the above posts. In addition to Joe's advise, I think this is also some thing important to look at. https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/index.php?/topic/23-how-to-get-good-answers-when-you-ask-questions/ PYRAMID 22.plan

That my friend is very clever!! I appreciate how you explained the science. Please keep up the good works. Your researches can help chief to improve.

Preference>render panel> "some where here there is a setting related to zooming to field view" I can't clearly tell it's exact words, but it contained the words "zoom" and "field" so you uncheck it there. Not around PC and never checked it in the later versions(x6&x7).not sure if its still there, but I am sure that was the place to set it in older versions.

I think the solid subtraction solves your problem. In which ever view you create the PS is ok, but what you are missing is to change the PS to solid and then in the other view draw a solid box align it at the angle you want to get, as you finish overlapping the two, just click on your original solid and at the bottom tool bar you click the "subtract solids" and finally click the later solid. And done. hope it helps

Make one and replicate it, using transform and replicate tool. Control your frames depth and others in skylight dbx.

Oh Scott, stupid time difference. It was my last eye blink on bed, I posted it. I wouldn't be too late to post the plan. Here goes chief... GLASS RAILING DENNIS.plan GLASS RAILING DENNIS.2.plan

Humm...me fail again.

Make the baluster width zero in the stair dbx, the you have the stair system with railings over it! And finally Use the rail style panel(solid no rails) and make it to follow the stair. Don't forget to play with Newel spacing to get the look you want.

W.I railings on your stair, I am not sure if that is what you wanted. Here it is, if it helps. Walker.Patrick st 1 1.zip

Hey Jon, I am not advanced in understanding such big words, honestly speaking I need some one's help to get it, what it means "subtle signage" but I know Jon is kind and I take it as kind words, so thanks.Regarding the later I was just experimenting in chief RT and the second image is just a mode of photo editor software in my smart phone. I don't know what reno works is. Jon, your works are always fantastic!! really nice one.

Commercials, exterior view. actually I am not a bright customer to this specific thread. Variety is good.

The best of Michael! He honestly put it. That is very kind of you. Good advice that all of us would like it!! Great work!! they really done it and will look forward to see the next sneak. Hopefully Chiefarchitect X8 will do most of the things we need.

I would create a wall material region with the same thickness to the siding, assign it with opening no material and save it in the library for the feature. Then it is like applying it on wall and auto cuts the siding for good, similar to the delete surface method but permanent change and ofcourse reversible if you need it! Just delete the material region in plan and the original wall is there, but I normally use the save as method for this kind of display and the original plan is always on the safe side from un intended changes.

Yes Glenn your method is much easier. I never thought flaring tool was such powerful. Thanks for sharing.

Winders worked for me as I said it in the above post STAIR CURVED IN PLAN.plan
-
I think winders could make it. Actually I not around PC now and can't be sure it works.

I think this type of balusters is not mostly used, here is a photo of one. You can easily use chief's auto stairs as shown in the video, no sound but hope this is easy to understand. Make the stair material opening no material and apply it on a symbol of stair without railing.
-
In x8 this is gona be easy. Native stair rails. Isn't this how chief must do it.

Ok I know this is silly, but the power to store temporarily using clipboard is very helpfull. I use it most of the time before doing any action that affects some part of the job. This case make a temporary roof then place rafters as Scott said. Finally Before deleting the roof , just copy it and paste it back holding its position. The niche techniqu I posted last time was applying this technique. Draw walls, apply the material region, copy the material region, place the window niche and finally paste hold position and the material region will not be cut by the window. This is just FYI and i would realy like, if chief could have an option to store temporarily minimum ,a list of the last 5 copied items. and let me choose which one to paste currently. Just a thought, in my oppenion this would increase some efficiency.

It works sir, you were correct.Retain rafters after deleting the roof. Here is the plan for confirmation. I have deleted the side that has the gable and framing is there. This setting is helpful in a lot of areas when working in chief. retain rafters.plan

Oh..humm are you kidding Scott? That is shame on me. I thought it was clear. OK this was following a last time's discussion on this issue. https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/index.php?/topic/6856-how-to-build-exterior-stairs-that-follow-the-terrain/ -

Isn't it OK, the sound. though I am not native speaker, it is better actually now. You know I am fast learner. This method helps to understand the relation ship b/n the stair risers and contour intervals. And at the same time the plan view of contours with thread depths. This is an other good example on, why programmed workflows are important to addapt in the different stages of the learning curve. -
