  1. I have learned a lot from you Thank You
  2. Just added the suggestion to the suggestion box.
  3. I thought of that but didn't really see the point of doing it if the top doesn't frame out. But once you have the pony wall built correctly there is no reason why you shouldn't to save a step. This leads to another Idea that maybe CA can do; Instead of just a lower wall section and upper wall section maybe they can add a middle also? It would open up a lot of doors for more options. Seems simple to add. Not sure?
  4. I'm happy to contribute something! I have been more of a taker than a giver. Thank You
  5. Thought I might share my bucking window technique with the world. http://screencast.com/t/Eygnajvixowq
  6. Now I know why your head is tilted in your photo. You must be used to ducking.
  7. First time for a video guys. Hopefully it works. This is the way I think I would do the bucking window. It comes out right on the framing plan this way. Clean and easy to draw. http://screencast.com/t/Eygnajvixowq
  8. Here is another way that the framing works out instead of using a double wall.
  9. I thought I might try and give it a whirl. How about this guys?
  10. Can someone tell me the quickest way to change the cabinet materials (wood type and/or color change)? I already have the full layout done the customer just wants to change the color.
  11. Typically I just put the number on the outside of the arch with no dimension line but I understood that he wanted the line with arrows. I was just trying to give him what I thought was asked for.
  12. I built the pink wall using the fence tool and it steps automatically to the terrain. It does not have a footing but that doesn't really matter I decided at this point. Maybe I can figure that out later. I know I can put a footing underneath it but I would have to step it manually.
  13. Thanks Guy's I can do it now. Part of me asking the question was to save me time. The customer is rushing this job and so you guys saved me having to spend hours figuring stuff out. Thanks Again!!!
  14. That's the easy part. How do I change the panels to a block wall instead of a wood fence? That was my original question. I told Glen I wanted to use the fence tool because I new that I could make it follow the terrain.
  15. Is there a way to use the fence tool so it can follow the terrain?
  16. Can I get some different ideas on how to build a block fence with foundation? I think I'm making it way to complicated.
  17. I searched key commands on Google and even went into Microsoft word help to try and find something. I don't think there is a keyboard shortcut for that but it would be helpful if there was. Control arrow nudges the text or item but doesn't rotate it. Bummer!
  18. I like it! Not sure I would use that but I may now that I know about it. Thank You
  19. Yea that seems unusual. You may want to post the plan so others can help you through it.
  20. Is that an attic space or a second floor where the windows are? Or vaulted ceiling?
  21. I agree. You just didn't elaborate of other circumstances. I don't care how chief frames the corners because I don't use the materials list and I don't put the framing in any of the floor layouts. I refer to my framing details for that in the structural drawings. Thank you Joe
  22. I'm a framer and I don't understand this comment. We never frame outside corners like the way chief has it set up. Its always the way Greg wants it with three studs or there is a 4x4 on the corner. We used to do "stud block stud". In California you need something to attach the hold down to for your shear walls and up lift and/or you need the nailing surface for the plywood or OSB.
