  1. For an existing plan, take a look at this https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00055/displaying-metric-and-imperial-units-on-a-single-dimension-line.html
  2. Edit / Preferences / New Plans (in General menu) / select 'Metric Units' at top
  3. Or just make sure 'Toggle Sunlight' is checked in the adjust lights tab, easy to overlook ...
  4. I'm guessing that the differences i our systems (PC vs Mac & probably different video cards as well) has a lot to do with our different results. Try turning off all of your light sources and then add the lighting back in one at a time. Start with the sunlight then add in your cans & pendants but not too bright. I'd use the cans & pendants a accent lighting, for general room lighting I like to use added light sources. Specify them as point lights & keep them well below the ceiling to prevent bright spots and turn off shadows. Also, what kind of background are you using, is it from the Chief library? You'll need to experiment to see what provides the best balance but that's what works for me.
  5. At first glance, I'd say you need to dial back your lighting significantly. I usually keep the sunlight much, much lower than 150,000 and the same goes for your background. In this rendering, I have my sun light set at 250, background intensity is at 10 & exposure is .08. You don't state what you have the interior lighting set at but I'm guessing that it's pretty high as well. If you pos your plan, I'll take a look at it. Eric
  6. This sounds like something I can help you with, I've done quite a few projects like this. PM sent

  8. In addition to my internal SSD, I back up my files to iDrive and also to an external hard drive. If you need to create space on your internal drive, take a look at your archive folder, you may have many more archived copies than you really need.

  10. 3D Warehouse & Turbosquid are a good place to start. Here's a few more: https://renderpeople.com/free-3d-people/ https://renderpeople.com/3d-people/ https://skalgubbar.se/
  11. One thing that did work for me was to change the thickness of the door to 1/4". Not ideal but it works.
  12. Hmmm, I've never run into this before. I thought there might be an adjustment in the edit tab for the handle but no luck. The only solution I can think of is to specify 'none' for the exterior hardware and then place it manually. Have you contacted tech support?
  13. I do this type of work frequently, give me a call to review the details. Eric - epvisualz 585-441-5291
  14. Here's a good place to start; https://duckduckgo.com/?t=ffab&q=old+brick&atb=v417-1&iax=images&ia=images There are websites that specialize in quality images for rendering, just do a search and you'll find plenty.
  15. This sounds like something I can help you with...
  16. If you are using Windows OS (you should complete you signature as it helps us to narrow down a solution), then you already have MS Photos installed. Open your image and click on the 'Edit' button and then the 'Erase' tab (towards the right end of the toolbar) and just place the circle over your flare and then left click. Very simple to use and quite effective.
  17. I reported it earlier this morning and it was removed then. Unfortunately, it keeps reappearing under different user names.
  18. You could also 'erase' it in post processing. Photoshop, GIMP, MS Photos are all capable of taking care of it.
  19. If I understand you correctly you just want one surface of the slab covered and not the entire slab. If that's the case, try drawing a polyline square on the chosen surface and convert it to a 3D solid.
