This can be done via the 'Bottom component size' DBX in X9, You will also need to check the 'Auto adjust lites for componet size' in the lites DBX

Streatching an existing house plan. Advice Wanted
2wheeltodd replied to ACADuser's topic in General Q & A
I think this where a stretch function would be invaluable. I can't believe more users don't lobby harder for such a function. -
This I find to be true as well. Eave heights, baselines, overhangs need to be set correctly. Sometimes just re-joining roof planes corrects errant anomalies, other times there will be a variation with some dimension that needs to be adjusted in the dbx.

Solver, Exactly, however I can't seem to make that work via. options/flush eave in X9.

I am looking for a way of doing this as well. It would be nice to turn off the boxed eave just for the rake overhang.

Drainage is THE issue with an inverted gable. The saddle method is not great, if you can I would suggest glenw's method. More control there. If you do have a saddle be sure to leave yourself some eave to have a large scupper and downspout. It is possible to do a lot of the roof automatically but you will almost certainly have to manually edit some of the planes.

Even easier is to use the Gable/Roof Line toolbar in the Build/Roof menu...

Architecture, engineering, and code compliance will be a software exercise in the future I predict. The art in Architecture will be left to the algorithms sure to come just as the "driverless car" is sure to come. The very software being used in this forum is the stepping stone to those ends sadly. -

New Chief Architect 3D Viewer - for Mobile Devices

Tried it and really liked the interface. Very nice addition. -
There is a 30 second method if there is no room above. Use the room divider tool or invisible wall to outline the ceiling transition. Select the inner "invisible room" and change the ceiling height in the dbx to a foot higher. Super quick & moldings are no problem. The soffit method is equally qood and will give you fewer plan issues but takes a little longer. -Todd

Try turning off railings on the stair DBX and manually draw a railing on the stair. Make it a panel in the rail DBX and select your cable rail from the lib.

Try two 8' wide doors tight together. Block them together when you have them tight.

Michael, Many thanks that got it.

What are these red X's and how do you delete them?

I very often make multiple iterations of changes to the auto-built roof. I experiment with different forms, pitches, etc. and often find myself making the same modifications over and over. Is there a way to lock a roof plane then auto re-build maintaining the locked plane? I have not found a way to do so but perhaps a more experienced hand could offer some expertise. Todd
