  1. If your opening looks how you want it to look and you want a railing in the opening that is some sort of scroll/ironwork Juliet Balcony type thing- it might be easiest to grab the balcony railing section you want, export it as symbol (make it Millwork) and then just place it in the opening.
  2. For that other project, I built a full model of the adjacent house since they were the neighbor requesting the solar study.
  3. Heyermann solar study v2.pdf You can set the sun angle and latitude for your project. These are shots of orthographic top view cameras for the plan view shadows.
  4. This presentation was a circular fly around with some titles added. You can do searches for copywrite free music. This music for this was in the public domain. Be careful about adding music that is not in the public domain if this is for business. I use Adobe Premiere for editing. https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/2nepbw0esiodaveyhqwvs/Santa-Fe-3-SW-a_14.mp4?rlkey=93va1uz8zl54l2rdpvjghrapc&dl=0
  5. I use the walkthrough tool as a "view from a single curve" tool. If you are putting the CA camera on such a path it is a losing battle. this is a recipe for nausea and not a good way to tell the story of the space. If you want to effectively show that many spaces I would make simple camera moves along a curve and then use a video editor to fade in and out of the segments. Limit your number of keyframes, I almost never have more than a start and end keyframe. Don't cross between rooms for your curve if you can help it. Make sure you have the camera set for as many lights on as you have on the floor or you will get those light turning on or off as you cross rooms. You can also use light sets to manage this.
  6. Do we need to do a welfare check on Ed? What other forms of self harm are you engaging in?
  7. I think this will become my next suggestion. We should be able to have lintel control similar to rafter tails. I tried to fake it with a bevel casing and the wrap but the result is not what I would expect.
  8. Is there a way to achieve this with the Lintel tab in the DBX or is this going to be a custom solid?
  9. See above, DB was not trying to "hijack" the thread with his suggestion.
  10. Did you switch floors? Click you heels together 3 times? Mention the purchase of an E Bike and now you only see Specialized ads?
  11. There is no easy way to achieve that if you want the actual bricks modeled. If you make a solid cone and slice it to the approximate shape, you could apply a texture with a bump map to get the general look.
  12. I did this recently for a volume study. Just solids shaped and then a colored transparent material.
  13. Some good episodes of this podcast focus on HVAC https://buildshownetwork.com/contents/hvac-design
  14. Careful where you move your mouse
  15. sort of better? The line is a funky continuous line to avoid the gapping at the verticals. The line length of the muntin must pass the window stop and get in as far as the sash.
  16. I have never seen an RCP as a rendering or anything other than a vector view/plan view type of drawing. It seems like a misphrased request.
  17. The long answer is actually no also but more like a falling off a cliff: "Nooooooooooooo." Doppler affect optional.
  18. One piece at a time. Select a->b, then a/b->c, etc
  19. If you are not "on the books" for ADA compliance could mean that this work is unpermitted. I don't condone or encourage that approach but I do follow this simple rule gleaned from my friends ex husband (criminal defense attorney, aka "skum"). "If you are going to break the law, only break one law at a time". Therefore, build it to be able to pass the ADA compliance. Remodeling is expensive.
  20. Make the posts really, really small.
  21. I think they are getting the thin roof overhang profile but hiding the deeper structural beams/rafters. Either way, their work is outstanding.
