  1. If you are creating a title block for the size of you new set up, that is done on sheet 0. They are cad lines and text. I save layers per layout in the same file. Generally one for landscape ArchD, 11x17 landscape and portrait.
  2. When starting a plan file (and always) you are drawing in real world scale. 1"=1". When you send to Layout, you define what scale you send. This is where it becomes important to be aware of what scale you intend to send to Layout if you want your text and callouts to have a relative size when in Layout. For me, if I am working on a plan or elevation view that will be sent to Layout at 1/4 scale, my text is 5". If sending at 1/8", then text is 10". For your 100' long plan, you could possibly send at 3/16" scale and it could fit on a 36" wide sheet. There is also a sheet display in plan view and that could be what is bothering your eyes?
  3. Not using SPV's in CA begs the question "Do you even CADD bro?"
  4. Change your railing from Balusters to Panels. Insert the panel from the Library.
  5. The survey seems lacking in critical questions. 1. I am a solo office and work residential 99%. Therefore Chief can satisfy most of my needs 2. If I was to look for work right now in an architects office, I would need Revit as my primary tool. Full stop. 3. Is Chief a good introduction to drafting and something useful to get HS students interested in the profession, probably a big yes. 4. If your goal to be more of a Trade School environment, Revit.

  7. When I send to layout, I send as an image. Are you sending live views?
  8. Do you want to show a wall type for ZipR? Or are you trying to show the tape lines? For a ZipR panel, it would be just a matter of adding an appropriately sized layer to your wall assembly. For the tape lines, dear gawd, why? Just tell the contractor to read the damn instructions.
  9. Thanks. I guess I need to add the suggestions for being able to break the baseline and extend it for these conditions.
  10. Is there a way to make this suck less? This is a condition where the baseline lives at the wall line that is beyond this wall. Where we have a wall stagger but the roof plane goes over both, Is there a way to get the plate to automatically build correctly? Ignore the red dashed lines, they are for some measurement references. Help me Mr. Wizard...
  11. Before you make this investment, have you worn a headset? I have tried a few that a friend demoed to me. His company was working on AR products. Not everyone can wear a headset without freaking out. I liked it and had fun but others at the party had to take it off in a few seconds.
  12. You have some roof pitches at 10 and some at 12. That roof on the second floor bedroom would have 10 on one side of the gable and 12 on the other as it is currently. I think you need to make some decisions and this roof is pretty straight forward. You can join a 10 to a 12 at the hip but it is messy at the eave. What do you want to do?
  13. Vertical closure clips. https://mrpsupports.com/products/product:vertical-closure-clips/ I did not use them on this project since I did not want to see the small tabs over the stone. I did this one with some Boral boards painted and then screwed to the posts which allow for a small gap for drainage.
  14. The paver stand off system I used on my last project had an additional bracket for the end of the run to hold a rip of the stone vertical. I will search this detail up.
