Extend the railing wall a couple of inches. Make sure you are on Floor 2 and have the correct wall. Now someone make the drywall wrap properly...

From a recent post: Curved Trusses: 1. Use CA truss tool to get this curved bottom truss started by using a curved ceiling plane. 2. Use solids in elevation. Solids allow you to have the wood grain longitudinal on each long side and across the ends by copying the material, rotating it and saving it as another material. 3. Use 3D moldings in elevation. The wood grain will be longitudinal on all sides.

You may want to separate those two requirements and let a designer design and an engineer engineer.

Howdy Rob, I cannot explain how you got there because I do not know the plan's history. My guess is that you edited an auto generated roof plane AND said okay to the warning that popped up saying that you had auto roofs on. From the X13 help file: "When an automatically generated roof plane is modified, the program marks it as "edited", giving you the option of retaining it when the roof is rebuilt. Uncheck this box to remove this status from the selected roof plane. See Rebuilding Roofs. Mark as Edited is only available for automatically generated roof planes. If a manually drawn roof plane is selected, the words Manual Roof Plane will display here instead." I hope that helps. Charles

Just uncheck "Mark as Edited" and rebuild to see if that is the (only) problem.

In elevations, when the dimension snaps do not behave so well.

For two columns, send the schedule to layout three times. Crop the first one halfway down the list. Crop the second on halfway up the list. Crop the headings to add to the top of #2.

Remember that: The location of of the baseline (in 3D: X, Y, Z) and the roof pitch determine the location (and height) of the roof plane. The wall extends upward until it reaches the ceiling height or a lower roof plane, depending on your settings (like a balloon wall). The "beam" in this case is part of the railing wall. So when you move the baseline inward toward the porch center, you lower the roof plane and shorten that wall's height (and lower the top of that wall) which lowers the "beam" that is part of that wall. Howdy Chris, It just seem like a roof problem. Just align the roof baseline with the outside main layer of that porch eaves wall and see if that works for you. Proper baseline location from my change: Before baseline was moved: After baseline was moved: For others: The baselines need to be at the correct elevation also, which they were. Place a serious roof plane sloped away from the wall to the left and then add the cricket. And a gutter. Best, Charles
