  1. Changed floor properties from polished to reflective. The polished setting often creates problems for me like you are seeing in your ray trace. Also, the kitchen lights look like they are set as point lights. I would make them spot lights, adjust cut off angle to about 150 and adjust intensity as needed,
  2. Some of the uses of some techniques are for artistic presentations. I sometimes use glass house with line drawing when I want to see clean edges and present some color but not try to use specific photo like textures. Line drawing and technical illustration is for clean edge design without any color as the color sometimes gets in the way of the design. The customer may focus on the color versus the design. Standard allows for quick semi-photo like presentations and of course ray traces are for fixed still shots showing the completed photo like look. They are all tools, just like hammers and are used for different purposes under different circumstances.
  3. OPen the symbol, select material click on the material you want to change the name of and then click it one more time and the name will be highlighted and can be changed.
  4. Sorry I could not make it. Had a busy day with AT&T, 3 service calls to fix a problem and then I was just too tired and forgot! ;o(
  5. That's not a home, it's a municipal building!

  9. When using round railings with vector view and no color the bottom line for the rail does not show. If I make then square they show. Looks like a buf=g to me. I have the latest update installed. Also first newel is not a thick as the rest.

  11. Chopsaw - I have not done any additional ones since that. The process is pretty straight forward though and the price is right! ;o)
  12. That was a smoking band! Interesting to know what happens to members of dissolved bands from those days......for me anyhow....
  13. Looks like pic #! is using point lights instead of spot lights. Change to spot lights and adjust as needed.
  14. As Graham mentioned you can create a different color and turn up it's emissive setting to brighten it.
  15. pull the wall back, place window and drag wall back into place.
  16. Some things you can try: IF you have a sun in the drawing turn it off. put a roof on. If you are using point lights under the cabinets change to spot lights with a wide cut off angle like 175, see if that helps.
  17. I use a cyberpower FANG, 17" screen, Works fine for me. Never tried to add monitors etc. I just mention it because it was suggested in post #3 above.
  18. Hold the control key and drag into place. Don't know why you are trying to drag into a glass wall though.
  19. Hi Todd, THere are many ways to do things in Chief. I think the best way, in general, is to use a cabinet and then split the door panels vertically and adhusting the cabinet as necessary for height, depth, etc. Not sure what was on the video you watched. THere are many door styles from many manufactureres to choose from. The manufactireres catalogues can be dowmloaded from Chiefs site if you are a up to date user. Probably can't get them in you are using it for trial purposes.
  20. HA! That's one way to look at it. I will however that it is a long way off. Have a good one.
