Alaskan_Son
This feels like a really silly question but I've never run into it before now... Is there a way to acurately set the rotation of an orthographic elevation camera? I have a wall thats at a totally off angle and can't seem to figure out a way to get the camera perpendicular. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
glennw
Michael, I am not sure if this is the only way but it does work. You need to use the Plan defaults to set an Additional Allowed Angle to match the angle of the wall, so that the camera snaps to that angle when you draw it. I'm sure that you can figure it out from that.
Alaskan_Son
That makes sense Glenn. Thank you.
Solution dshall Posted August 12, 2015 Solution Share Posted August 12, 2015 Or draw a line at the angle you want camera, now when you use camera, start at one end of line and end at other end
Alaskan_Son
Aww man!!! That seems ridiculously obvious now. Thanks Scott.
Kbird1
In Plan view (Or a 3D view) you can just open the Camera (not the view) and set whatever angle you need too. M.
glennw
Mick, That is not an "orthographic elevation camera" as requested by the OP.
Kbird1
Mick, That is not an "orthographic elevation camera" as requested by the OP. Correct ........ I missed the "elevation" part of the request after reading just the title ....
tommy1
I think I do what Scott does. I draw a cad line. I don't worry about setting an additional angle in the "allowed angles". I just make the line I drew perpendicular to the wall and it works just fine. Now having the "on object" snap turned on, I can make the camera view and it will follow the line. Works perfect every time for me.
