ddestimate
I have drawn a area in the attic, 2 beds and a bath. How do I make the first story perimeter display on the second story??? I just want to display the exterior walls, REFERENCE DISPLAY OPTIONS , does not offer this option. Thanks for any and all answers. HumbleChief
Robert try using a separate layer for each of your first floor exterior walls, that should allow you to show the first floor walls with your reference layer.

Gawdzira
The way I do this is to make a polyline of the lower floor outline. This is the building outline which can be copied and pasted in place to the upper level. An easy way to do this is with the Room Polyline tool. jbaehmer
I create a separate "reference" layer set for that specific view. I then highlight the view port on the layout, use the "open" command (Not double clicking it) and turn on that reference layer. Then there is only one view port and I haven't created something additional in the plan file. However you way works just as well.

DRAWZILLA
Also you can set up your wall defaults to have different layers automatically so you don't have to think about it as you draw them. You can also change to ,and or, set up your reference sets in a view already sent to the layout. Just right click on the view and go to "Plan Display".
