GeneDavis
Mr Rabbet's vid shows making a material region then making it an architectural block. I select the object (the region I made on a west wall) and see no way to make it a block. What's wrong?
DBCooper
I get the arch block button as soon as I select two or more material regions or custom backsplashes. If you want to make the block out of just one, you need to hold down the shift when you select it. This puts you into group select mode which makes the block tool show up. If it's not that, then you probably need to post the plan. 1
DeLayDesign
I use the backsplash feature to create mine. This way when it breaches the doors and windows it's automatically cut. Create one on in elevation on the floor you want it on then array it across horizontally.
Renerabbitt
For reference I no longer do it this way, I use a custom texture instead and its part of the wall. So I just draw out walls..the way it should be
GeneDavis
Hey, @Renerabbitt! Show us how that texture is created and used. Thanks.
jtcapa1
Rene's NEW way is even better than Rene's old way. Just playing around with textures and multiple layers in Photoshop. Once my client saw the black wood slat textured wall, he came up with the idea to put vertical rope lighting in the grooves, which actually worked with this latest version from Rene. That is the fun black hole of pushing 3d modeling to the limit.
