C4Adrafting
Does anyone have a favorite way to do wall pop-outs? In the attached image I received from the architect, the red arrows show the pop-outs I need to create. If I make another wall type with a double framed wall the exterior finish does not wrap around the ends (blue arrows). What am I missing? GeneDavis
What software are you using? Your signature does not list it. You know how Chief wall types work, right? There are 8 inch walls, 3 inch walls, and any makeup and thickness your heart desires.
SNestor
You can create these with "wall material regions"...or, as Gene suggested create a new wall type - 4" to 8" or whatever you desire. That said, creating small offset walls without much length can be "glitchy" on Chief. They sometimes want to snap where you don't want them. That is why the wall material region is a good alternative...but it is a slight work-around.
CharlesVolz
Use wider wall or 3D solid if you do not want to mess with that. Oops. Steve snuck in there...I didn't see you coming...
SHCanada2
i'll use a 3dsolid if it is not structural. if structural, and large enough, I'll draw a wall and leave a room, but then change the walls to no room definition
