Problem is likely either drivers for your gfx card need updating direct from nvidias site or you should try starting in a new template provided by chief, something may be corrupt in yours. A simple check, Edit area copy your plan to a new plan and export/import default settings and work in it and see if it crashes
sthieldesign
Thank you! I will give this a try!
DBCooper
I agree with Rene, it's probably a video card issue. You might want to check out this tech article though: https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-03049/troubleshooting-chief-architect-software-closing-unexpectedly-on-windows.html

I'd be keeping an eye on the Heat from both the CPU and GPU, if it crashes consistently after about 15 mins. It maybe the Nvidia 3080 GPU is running non-stop when in 3D for example, though I would not have thought Chief was that demanding unless you use PBR RTRT extensively and have not capped the "Live Samples" in the PB-RT Camera Defaults, not doing so mean the GPU will run continuously "Ray Tracing" the scene until the camera is closed. If Razer does not have an App to monitor Hardware Temps etc , try GPU-Z for the Nvidia Card.... it will also monitor the CPU if needed.... https://www.techpowerup.com/download/techpowerup-gpu-z/ Mick. sthieldesign
I updated my driver but also moved my working file to the Desktop. I was working on it through Dropbox and I believe that contributed to it crashing as well. Thank you for the help! Susan

CA does not like working from cloud files. Needs to be local.
JayMartin
You're probably aware you can change your Dropbox settings to sync the cloud files to your local system.
