Jambruins
Why am I getting a small piece of drywall at the bottom of my railing for the stairs going to the basement? I have created walls in the floor plan and defined it as open to below and auto foundation is on.
GeneDavis
Close Chief, zip the file, post it here. Or at least give us screencaps showing structure for both garage room and stairwell.

DavidJPotter
You created the railing wall using an interior 4 wall, and you set the garage floor to -24 1/2 " but your stairwell room's floor is set to Zero inches, thus the wall type reveal. When you change the wall type to better match the garage floor to "Concrete Stem Wall" and set the floor height settings to match you get a better looking result, try it and see. Michael_Gia
On top of that, if you were looking to have a bit of concrete wall below your railing then use a pony wall.
Doug_N
I have made a few changes to your plan and used a pony wall for the railing side as well as some changes to the stair materials, top height and materials. I would suggest a landing and door at the bottom of the stairs because most building codes require some "gas tight" provisions to prevent gas fumes from entering the living portion of the building.Gadway House DN_2022_07_31.plan
Jambruins
Doug, I can't open your file because you created it with a newer version of chief architect. Can you save it down to version 12?
