Plan Review/Submittal Redline - Peer Review Group?

Hi there,

Perhaps this already exists which I'd love to be apart of... Otherwise, any interest in forming a peer review group specifically for plans prepared for building department submittal or have been returned with redline comments for corrections? I know that building departments vary, however it would be a great resource if a trusted circle could openly share for feedback and collaboration. Please share any thoughts!

EDIT: Let me know if this isn't the place to share, but in spirit of the post here is a quick/simple comment response template for building department redlines if desired :)

That is a great idea. Maybe this can become the start of it as it would just need to be an ongoing thread. The only problem would be if multiple submissions were getting feedback at the same time. Maybe this thread is the jumping off point to  a slack channel where you could have individualized projects for clarity.

Personally, since I am working in California, a lot of my knowledge is based on the needs of our states more stringent requirements.

Really easy to establish a redline SPV in chief and drop redline notes in camera and plan. Notes can bind to z-coordinates, so they show up at the correct height in 3d. Just establish your note type as redline and a schedule for only redline notes and makes for a dynamic markup tool. Then you just need a place to host files...which you could do here or on an FB group.
I'd be happy to make a redline section in mine

Looking for design partner for upcoming projects. My previous designer used Chief and he is too busy to take on additional work. Ideally looking for someone who may have building experience in addition to being a designer. Looking for someone who can deliver preliminary floor plans and elevations to facilitate proof of concept, someone who can design to specific standards for ARC review and submission standards. The designer will need to understand page naming conventions and all related requirements for the city of Bend Oregon for streamlined permit submission. Structural drafting and coordination with structural engineers.

Use this forum to share insights on Building Codes and the techniques you use to employ them in Chief Architect. It will be most helpful if you include the specific code and location of enforcement you are dealing with as you share

We’ll start the conversation with this link to resources like the ICC, IRC, DOE, various Tax Credits, some of the common Associations for our industry.

What is the best way to "sketch" over a floor plan during a video conference, sharing my screen with a client or consultant?  Occasionally it would be handy to be able to do a sketch the way I would use tracing paper during a live meeting. Can you do that directly within Chief?  or would it be better to use a pdf and software that allows you to draw over the pdf?
