ACADuser
I'm trying to move solids, see attached. The end faces need to be aligned and arranged like the picture. I have tried several views & am having trouble snapping to the corners & moving them into place. Solids.zip
DzinEye
Use CAD detail from view to accurately place lines you can snap to in the 3D model. Cut and paste/hold position into the 3D model.
ACADuser
Thanks for the tip. I think my issue was not having the section camera capturing the entire object.

DzinEye
I lined up everything in plan view, then in Elevation view of one of the ends moved everything into position. Didn't know if you wanted small gaps for detail clarity... left a few.

I think this was your problem, because even though I too think CAD Detail From View is just swell, that tool should not be necessary for this. You should already have all the snap point you need. ACADuser
Thanks all. Once I got the camera positioned correctly I could move the solids as needed. Mark, the detail of that item was not critical but yes I do separate items to keep lines from disappearing. I have the beams in place now & will be cleaning up the framing.
