Mirror Help

when i select material as" mirror" i dont get a mirror finish , i just get a purple colour. how can this be fixed?

That is what the "mirror" material looks like in a vector view camera view (no reflections except using a ray trace or standard render camera view).

i thought that the view that comes up where you can see the tile patern was the render view? i have just done a raytrace and yes the mirrors do show up,so how do i do a render veiw?

and how do you get the mirrors to show up in a walkthrough ? which i have made and they dont show up.

I have no way of knowing what you did-did not do or with what.

 

I do know that once you learn how to use the software by way of study and practice with the Reference Manual and provided you have a decent computer for it to run on, you or anyone else can get stunningly good results.

 

It takes lots of concentrated study and then using what you learned during study to then be able to display competence to yourself and others. It is worth doing. Everything you need to know is resident in your Reference Manual and Help files.

Check these settings...

if you have toggled the Patterns off you won't see the tiles/grout lines in Vector View , if toggled on you should..... but still no reflections , they only show in Standard View and Ray Trace assuming you have the settings in the previous post.

You also won't see the mirror effect if you have an old mirror material in your lib. This was new in X6 so make sure you use that one.
