crosscutter55
I can not figure out how to make a cutout in a 10" wide c m u foundation wall I would like to show a steel plate with non shrinkable grout under the beam also .
glennw
If you draw a floor beam it will auto cut a pocket in the wall. In this pic the "Framing, Floor Beams" layer has been toggled off. You will probably have to draw the plate and grout manually. To make the pocket deeper to accommodate the plate and grout, place a second beam at the lower height, place it on it's own layer, and hide the layer. justmejerry
You can control the length of beam by just dragging end in plan view. I believe it shows through the wall if you surpass half the wall thickness or more. Here we go with 3" bearing plus 1/2" space.
RL-inc
Simpson makes some great hanger options for that situation as well.
