timbek
Hi all, New to this forum. I am trying to create a basic deck with railings and balustrades but don't seem to be able to extend both posts to the sloped ceiling. Seems this should not be a difficult task but I am missing a trick somewhere. I'd also like the underside of the metal roof to be exposed, e.g. rafters and bearers, no ceiling or lining. Any help appreciated. I'm using Home Designer Suite 2014. This is common style in Australia. Cheers, Tim
Chopsaw
Tim, there are only a handful of people here that use Home Designer. You would be better to post on the Home Designer Forum :https://hometalk.chiefarchitect.com There are likely to be lots of differences for what you need. Greg_NY61
Put the post and beam on the other side to support the roof and railing on gable walls and that should solve your problem. Just make the same way you would build this in reality.
DRAWZILLA
or just use a balloon frame wall, that's how they would build it.
