My bet is on this issue ^^^^ it makes no logical sense to me why the view it was created in is so important, but Chief operates this way with psolids.

Yeah, I have the pt-2-pt assigned - I was talking about the "copy-pt-2-pt" in 1 shortcut. If I did 30 pt-2-pt copies in a plan, and say I did 2 plans every week that is 1 min. extra time per week I would spend. 1 week x52 weeks in the year means I am spending about an hour per year on something that could be eliminated. If I use Chief for 24 years, then that is 1 day in my life i've wasted. At the end up my life, on my death bed, I will think back to this discussion and realize I could have bought myself an extra day of fun activity with my family instead of wasting it on an extra operation Chief should have included in its software. If Chief has say 5,000 users that is nearly 14 YEARS of time wasted!!!!! I bet you didn't think of that.

Its too bad we dont seem to have a pt-2-pt copy shortcut key we can assign....i can't see one anyways.

I've been trying to understand line scaling in Chief, and could swear someone once said there was a feature that let Chief scale widths of the lines when going to Layout so that it was relational to the scale/size print. I've searched for what this might be, but since I dont know what the correct term is I can't seem to find it. Then again, I may have altogether misunderstood - so I am not sure if what I read meant what I thought. Any help on this is appreciated.

Are you saying you want the line weights displayed correctly but NOT other things like dimension text etc scaling? If thats what you are saying then hell yes I would like to do that as well.

Michael is right on, and I think this is the same method that Chief used in this video, so this may be helpful. The important thing in my opinion is the fact in line drawings and vector views using this method shows correct. Typically these islands have no horizontal seams as the edges are 45 deg end miter cut.

I was thinking - should this be reported as a bug? Chief isn't working correctly, and when I spoke to a tech support guy there at corp. they sounded like there is no reason it doesn't work and he felt it must have been something on my end. Well, it appears this is a problem for everyone.

Very complete review comparison. I've personally not used 2020 but i've worked with cabinet designers who did - and i was thoroughly unimpressed. No question when it comes to cabinets and residential interior design Chief is off-the-charts great.

Another option would be to use a "half wall" but then set it to whatever height you want.

So I wanted to write back and let everyone know i've opened files which were done in X8 - and specifically didn't have problems like I am experiencing, but now with X9 those same text boxes aren't working. Is this more a problem with x9 than it was in other releases?

Yep, that was i guess the issue - i needed to reboot Chief and then they showed up.

When you export and import layersets are there any quasi-extraneous rules that would effect doing this between x7 and x9? I try an export and then import and nothing shows up in the x9 file - tried 5 times.

I dont think it took the post rendering work you may think. Sure, its been that way in the past, and people still make adjustments after a render but I dont think its what seperates Chief's render engine and Vrays. Here is a video showing a model/render and you can see the render portion took a fraction of the overall time (towards end of video). The results he got were well beyond what Chief could do. Note: 52:51 in the video starts render.

Michael - I was looking and using another one of your threads on this footnote/schedule solution, and noticed you are using "01", "02" etc etc. Is there anyway to set that to "1" "2" etc? So changing the text to Courier did work too - although I do like Micheal's idea as well. I have to say, the fact this doesn't work correctly is another notch in the WTH working in Chief. Truly nutty.

I agree - but id say in general we need better CONDOC management with notes and details.
