P, I do my grid on one layer, align my posts to the grid, then align centers on other floors using my referenced posts. I guess copy/paste in place would work, but... hey, the software is flexible like that. jon

Client viewer is one way to go, but I would ask that CA look towards what--at least in larger commercial projects--is all but an industry standard, the 3D PDF. Which, gets me back to my core supposition for CA as a viable software entity; modernize the codebase! While some vendors go the "Do it all" route (ArchiCAD), others (Autodesk/Revit) allow 3rd-party opportunities to make a lil' sumtin-sumtin via plug-in development on a well formed SDK. I first encountered the ePlanset being used by Plant on a rehab/remod in San Francisco, (1995) and lately by HITT (2011) using multi-lingual, 3D-enabled, Hyperlinked PDF plan sets. If CA wants to get there from here, then 3rd-party participation is all but mandatory--really, as much as I dig this software, CA does not have the engineer/developer manpower to do all the "stuff" that needs bein' done. Therefore; modernize the codebase, send the Marketing Director into the wild--not to return without signed CMAs from 3D PDF vendors Tetra 4D and 3DA Systems, as if by magic (A ton of hard work) CA has extended their product functionality in a manner that is durable, extensible, and readily manageable. Or, try futzing their way through yet another feature request to an already overwhelmed development team. Just sayin' jon

If you ray trace, then the 2 extra CPU cores will give a noticeable difference in speed. As for monitors, it really gets into personal preference once the specs fall within what you expect. I prefer a max 27" WQHD in dual monitor, and a max 32" in single. You may have different preferences, as others on this forum do. jon

Do you work on documents/models with a long physical page/symbol ratio in software such as InDesign, SolidWorks, or ? If not, then I doubt you will ever see a need to rotate the monitor. The only time I ever rotate screens is for producing outdoor banners using InDesign and Android emulators for certain phone work (Not CA). Spend your money on a 5960 (8 core) CPU instead of a 4K monitor. Two time savers...sort of. The export image with transparent background is a huge timesaver for people like me who take almost every image to post production. The "sort of" timesaver is the object painter. As v1.0 of this feature, it's--um--er--um...it has great potential. jon

Response times are important for gamers. You will sacrifice accurate color w/a gamer monitor. Refresh rates in IPS/PLS (PLS is used in the ASUS & Samsung) are only important in large screens viewed at a distance.
