M5 (Pro or Max) MacBook Pro w CA17 (Current User Feedback Please!)
PhillipCA replied to CUChris81's topic in General Q & A
@CUChris81 I can’t make a recommendation one-way-or-another on an M4 Max 40 core vs M5 max 32 core since we haven’t tested a M4 Max 40 core. An M4 Max 40 core would be faster than the 32 core version. Does it meet or exceed an M5 Max 32 core? Maybe, but we haven’t test it.- 15 replies

M5 (Pro or Max) MacBook Pro w CA17 (Current User Feedback Please!)
PhillipCA replied to CUChris81's topic in General Q & A
@CUChris81 We have updated the video card ray tracing speed chart to include an M5 Max (and a few other PC video cards). In this specific test it performed slightly faster than an M4 Max.- 15 replies

@Zorro22, I believe you should be able to self-service what you are requesting for the “.PL1” file, I’m uncertain about those other files. 1. Make a copy of any files you need saved in the newer version. 2. Download & install the X8 Viewer. 3. Open the copy of the file in the X8 Viewer. Save the file & close it. 4. The newly saved file should now open in Chief Architect X17. You can download a trial here.

Quicker Way to switch between Countertop materials?
PhillipCA replied to WoodGrain's topic in General Q & A
This video goes over how to change materials. The example used in the video is for cabinet boxes, but the same concept applies to countertops. https://www.chiefarchitect.com/videos/watch/1541/applying-materials-to-cabinets.html Here is information on using the style palette tool: https://www.chiefarchitect.com/videos/watch/247/using-style-palettes.html -
Here is a video that reviews the different ways you can control how framing reports to the materials list using the Structural member Reporting feature. https://www.chiefarchitect.com/videos/watch/30/cost-estimating-using-structural-member-reporting.html
