  1. Take a look at pic. The CALL OUTS for the plan on the left DO NOT have fill. The CALL OUTS for the plan on the right DO HAVE fill. What is the difference? Copy the stuff on the good plan to the bad plan and now there is no fill. I can't figure it out. It seemed like this behavior started on the last few plans. HAS FILL VERY GOOD 1.plan NO FILL NOT GOOD 1.plan
  2. I think the first chance anybody will have to see X-10 will be at the UGM....... and I bet if anybody gets to see it, they will be asked to not talk about it.
  3. Good call Andy, thanks. BTW, I did not drag that wall down.......
  4. I copied the wall and did not call it a PONY WALL, now take a look at it...... the wall is messed up for some reason .
  5. Take a look at pic. The dvx shows siding but the 3d view does not. Any ideas? Plan attached. what wrong with this wall.plan
  6. I hope you reported this. I am sure I have in the past. It is aggravating not to have WYSIWYG.
  7. Nice job Mick. Interesting that X7 behaves differently than a newer version.
  8. I had no problem putting trusses on the building.
  9. You know what? Lew has done so much complaining about the lack of certain features, they go ahead and put the feature in just to shut him up. i.e. SUN FOLLOWS CAMERA. Thanks Lew. There was another feature they put in to shut Lew up, I just can't remember what it was, but it was another great feature. Hey Lew, please start complaining about the text. I think the one feature they won't put in for Lew is the LOCK FLOOR FEATURE (thank goodness). Now, what was that other feature that I thank Lew for?
  10. Yeah, that works. I am working on a house with slab. 2 areas need to be raised, one by 6" the other by 12". I chose the sleeper method for this project. A slab for the 6" dropped area could work. Project in Solana Beach..... dld I ever say how much I hate working in Solana Beach? I do not think I will ever do another house in Solana Beach.....
  11. Yes, the sleepers should be part of THE FLOOR FINISH, not part of THE STRUCTURE. adding a floor is asking for trouble, Sorry Eric, A non-starter for me. think about it..... it is a FINISH.
  12. I concur, I rarely rarely rarely drag walls.....
  13. You are new, post your plan and somebody will help you.
  14. If you are talking about the horizontal lines I have highlighted, I recently ran into this. Here is my fix........ in a 3d view, select wall, open it.... say a few curse words........ and then close it. FIXED, at least that is what I did for 4 different locations on the same elevation view. I cannot explain it, I did not change wall type, I did not align the walls..... I did nothing except open the walls and the close. Please let me know if this worked for you.
  15. That is the easiest way to get what you want.
  16. Thanks P., very helpful.
  17. Glenn, This is great, thanks a ton.
  18. Thanks, I think that makes sense. I wonder if anybody has used it that way. I was hoping I could add the same tile to two different objects that are side by side and then offset the tile on one object without effecting the tile location on the second object. If I wanted to do what I just described, I think I would need to copy the material and rename, thus having 2 materials that were exactly alike except the pattern, texture, angle could be unique to each object.
  19. GLOBAL SYMBOL MAPPING, does anybody understand it? See CA's explanation below. I do not get it.
  20. Here is a good vid by CA dealing with finding materials on line. https://www.chiefarchitect.com/videos/watch/10145/creating-custom-tile-materials.html However the solution for the PATTERN can be tedious. If anybody knows of a vid explaining how to make a custom pattern, that would be super.
  21. While we are at it, does anybody have the pattern in the pic? Notice the 33% offset.
  22. I think Perry's method works good. have you ever blocked a post on a footing? Try it. I bet it disappears in a 3D view.. that goes back 12 years, I don't know if they ever fixed it.
  23. Yep. Almost a useless feature for me. In fact I have never used it.
  24. Great elevations, I think the only thing I would change is to take off the door and window labels. One of labels is completely covering up a window..... so you move it.... it takes time.... change size of window.... you probably have to move the label again.... I say let the contractor refer to floor plan if he wants to know the window call out...... but you are right, the color and the texture and your shadows make that a very understandable elevation.
