  1. .... so I am at work, deep in concentration, trying to put together some plans of an existing structure that I have not seen first hand, no pictures, some sketches on a napkin when Lynn calls and says, "okay honey, I'm off to see the Grandkids, I'll be back Tuesday", quickly I try to pick up on what she is trying to tell me, Grandkids? Which ones? The ones in Idaho or the ones 30 miles North in Fallbrook, as I am trying to get my wits about me she say, " you remember, I told you I would not be back until Tuesday night". It must be the Fallbrook Gkids, she goes to see the Idaho Gkids in 3 weeks, a week before we take the trip across the pond. "Okay Babe, you have a good time, tell them I will miss them, I am sure they will miss me", she chuckles, they barely know I am alive. I swear, I think she said something at one time about seeing the Gkids, but I thought that was for a couple of hours, I did not realize she was moving out for 2 days. Do you guys ever here the immortal words, "Remember Honey, I told you about this 3 weeks ago?". In the 19 years I have been with Lynn, I have finally learned to act like I remember all the stuff she tells me. I always try to put a positive spin on these situations...... you think I am eating Medifast for the next two days? I think not, I'm off to the RBI for some real food.
  2. Beeohat, if it is any consolation to you, I too had a problem with the plywood sticking through the wall. I struggled with it for a long time. And then suddenly it fixed itself. I can't explain it. If you still can not fix it, please post the plan again and I will look at it again. I am very curious as to why it took me so long to fix it the first time.
  3. Here is a vid, can't explain it, took me forever to fix it the first time (if I did fix it), but it is fixed. Stupid vid, a waste of time, should not of taken as long as it did, but if it helps out Beeohat, it was worth the time. http://youtu.be/RMIqCPx7qdY
  4. Yes you did post the plan my apologizes. I will do a quick vid. These type of issues are always learning lessons for me. Thanks for the question, give me 30 minutes. BTW, don't get fooled by Perry, he knows every bit if not more than I.
  5. What is really interesting is when you suggest that they post a plan to help you answer their question, they ignore the suggestion and then ask another question. I just don't get it. I have decided to ignore these inconsiderate people...... except to stress their rudeness.
  6. Glenn, it is too much trouble to post a plan. I think it saves the OP a lot of time if it is YOU that muddles through his question without a plan. I just don't get why people are so inconsiderate. They expect help but they will not make it easy for you.
  7. Post the plan and I will do a quick vid. Many different ways of dealing with this.
  8. Think about it. How would you change it? What is defining the material? Probably via the wall definition. Maybe change the material on the wall?
  9. Thanks Rich, now I can do it your way, my way and with a coffee cup in my hand listening to the news. I don't know what was so hard abut it. BTW, I never had to use the wall connection tool, the walls auto fixed themselves. But, but, this is what I can't do...... have the curved wall on a tangent to a wall looking "clean".
  10. Rich, I could not get it to work, the curved wall did not merge with straight wall. The only way to do this for me was to break the straight wall at each side of door opening.
  11. CA has also made the comment that sometimes a PNG is preferable to a PDF.
  12. Not sure if you are responding to what I did. If you are, I am still not sure how to do it. Quick Vid?
  13. If Rich Winsor did videos, this is what they may look like: PART 1 http://youtu.be/OURri57Ai8g PART 2 http://youtu.be/yOXyDAODnmQ Solution by Rich Winsor and CA, great job guys.
  14. What choo talking about Brother Perry? The fix wall connections options, never tried it...... does it work well on circular rooms P.?
  15. If you ever get it resolved please share with the rest of us. Those circular rooms are a bear to deal with.
  16. Don't know specific answer but I use hotkeys for vertical split view (F6) and (F7) for horizontal split view. So yes, I would program the hotkeys if I were you.
  17. Yes, I have seen same issue. Do not know what causes it, very random.
  18. Crust thought of this, put them in drop box. Set it and forget it.
  19. The beauty of the pmolding is it auto gives you both sides of the drywall whereas the poly solid does not
  20. Yep, I've done it that way P. The problem is we can only have one layout open at a time. I need the plan layout open as I edit the plan. This new way I think will work very well. Now if I only knew my way around PAGES, the work app.
  21. Now ain't that a clever solution. I like it. Methods for building barrel arch: -ceiling plane -psolid -2d molding am I forgetting another method?
  22. I get the breaks too. I wonder why they are there. Not sure if it is a good thing or bad thing.
  23. Follow up, PDF Converter Free was free, if I want to convert to other apps, I must upgrade. 40.00, I upgraded.
  24. Thanks for the help guys, but this is what I am doing now. Remember, I am always about 5 years behind everybody else, so this is for those guys who are behind like me. So I get emailed plan check corrections in PDF form (sometimes it is faxed to me and then I save as PDF's, I think, (4 sheets). I save the attachment to job folder. Now I drag that pdf file from folder to PDF CONVERTER FREE that came with mac. It converts to a KEYNOTE file, not sure why it is not a PAGES file. I can now address the comments directly in the plan check correction list and now print that file as a PDF. In fact if there is a note on the list that needs to go on my plans, I suppose I can copy that directly from plan check list and put into my plans. So this is what I do for printing.... I mail the following to my print shop: PDF of plans, structural calculations, title 24 calculations and plan check response lists..... everything. I am officially out of the printing business. When the print shop is done printing, I call courier, for $20.00 the courier takes the plans to my plans runner and she does her thing. At one time I had the courier come by here to pick up calcs then the blueprint shop for the plans, heck, I let the print company do all the printing. I know I know, everybody knows about the PDF converter, but it is new to me.
