  1. Out of habit, I do a COMMAND S and then a COMMAND W. So yes, I use a hot key to save and I do not rely on the CA warning message asking do I want to save. I am pro-active saving.
  2. You can't give yourself rep points, but I gave you one.
  3. Rob, seriously, I want to tackle this when I have time....... there are some great lessons to be learned here. You are doing some neat stuff that is a bit out of the box.
  4. My brother Rob...... thanks for posting the plan. There are many things in your plan that I would do differently. If I have time in the next day, I will do a vid on what I would do. Not meant to be criticism, but consecutive criticism. I think I learn the most when I expose my methods to the masses and someone points me in the right direction.... thank you Glenn Woodward. Anyway, these kinds of plans are great to critique because you are doing some tricky things with many different methods of achieving your goal and by sharing ideas we can all learn something. Thank You Rob.
  5. That is the problem, if checked for no room def, why do you expect to get a room def.
  6. room divider wall should define rooms.
  7. Yep,, that is the way to do it
  8. I had same issue at 4:00 All's well now
  9. I get the idea of being able to show existing and new in same plan. You can do that in REVIT. But the question is, how much more time does it take a REVIT user to make this worthwhile? I don't know. My typical project takes from 20-60 hours. For me I do not miss this ability and if it adds a lot of time to producing plans I am not interested. Not knocking what you are requesting, just questioning the importance and are there bigger fish to fry.
  10. I reported issue to headquarters, I will let you know if I hear anything.
  11. I wish I knew what you were talking about. Anyway, I think post #12 answers the question.
  12. No, in fact what I did was I put one of the cameras on the NIP layer, and then instead of selecting another camera to put on NIP layer, I used layer eye dropper. I don't think that was the problem. Wait, let me open it now and see if all is well...... nope there are several cameras that ARE STILL NOT ON CORRECT LAYER...... let me select camera and put on a layer without using layer eyedropper..... Okay, I just figured it out..... I can use layer eyedropper to put camera on a specific layer..... but it does not stick. If I want to put a camera on a specific layer, I have to open the camera and put it on specific layer. IOW, layer eye dropper does not work for cameras....... or I should say layer eyedropper works temporarily until I close and reopen.... layer eyedropper does not stick.....
  13. No, you guys have it right. Do not change.
  14. Graehme, one layer is CAMERA SECTIONS and one layer is CAMERAS SECTION NIP (not in plan). It has nothing to do with if the camera is open or not. It is like a blob of mercury, I can not narrow down the cause.... it keeps eluding me like all the women that eluded me for the first 35 years of my miserable life.
  15. I know, don't you hate it when us nit wits don't post the plan, sorry Joe, my bad, bbb cameras jumping 1.plan.zip
  16. Here is the proof, Let's combine screen shots so you can see them side by side. Keep in mind, I made a change..... moving a couple of cameras to a different layer, they show up on different layer and they show up green, but if I close and reopen plan.... some of the cameras reverted back to their original layer, the blue layer. Here is the proof, note that the green cameras should of stayed green........
  17. Okay, here is the proof. I just closed plan file and layout file, reopened them, and now take a look at where the cameras are. Seriously, there is a camera that is behaving and then there are a couple that are not behaving.
  18. This is not the only time things did not stick. It seems like a year or two folks were complaining about this and I sort of ignored them. But now it is happening to me and I am seriously concerned.
  19. Take a look at the picture. Note the blue cameras and the green camera. I swear, 3 hours ago I put those green cameras on that layer. Well, I just got finished doing it again. again I had to put the cameras on green layer. What I am saying is it appears that sometimes things don't stay where I put them. I did put those camera on the layer that makes them green, a few hours later I find myself having to do it again. I will see if it sticks this time. I will post again if I find those cameras did not stick to the layer I assigned them too.
  20. There is no bug. Mick was not clear. If the default says to show the lower wall, you will never see the framing of the upper wall of the pony wall. Try this, do not check the default, instead try selecting DISPLAY LOWER WALL, if that does not work, try selecting DISPLAY UPPER WALL. And then maybe you should build framing and then you will see the framing on top of cmu wall.
  21. You might have some good reasons for staying out of layout and staying in plan. I follow 1 & 2, not sure if I get 3. I would recommend the plan method for everybody but P. Somehow I think he has it worked out pretty good.
