  1. It also works for bi-folds & pocket doors. For pocket doors just make sure the wall is thick enough to provide the pocket width. It's really great for multifold nana (or similar) glass walls. I'm perplexed that the option is not available for Barn Doors.
  2. I have a Walls Label Macro Package. It displays the wall Label differently depending on the View Type: Floor Plans - Wall ID plus direction of exposure (quadrant bearing) Elevations and Sections - Wall Type Layers similar to what you show Ideally this is placed in the Default Label for each Wall (Exterior, Interior, Half, Railing, etc.
  3. Not using a standard Garage Door. You could create a Symbol and insert it in a Doorway, but that's the only way I can think of at this time. It's similar to the approach I used for a Roll-up Garage Door. You would probably need a 2D Block showing it in the closed position for Plan Views.
  4. I was hand drafting long before you were born. Never did I see anyone use that way to indicate a hinged door.
  5. There's a big advantage to the existing plan display. It shows any potential conflicts with other doors, cabinet drawers & drawers, etc. Why would anyone want the straight line representation? It's definitely not graphic standards.
  6. This is probably a result of the "Z" Stretch Plane or "Z" origin being at the wrong location in the Hardware Symbol. OTOH, it might be a bug in the calculation using the door height to stretch the vertical pieces. You should contact support for this.
  7. I need to have a different submittal for the Planning Department than for the Building Permit. This essentially will require different Layersets for the views sent to Layout because the Planning Department doesn't want to see all the annotation which the Building Permit requires. It appears the easiest way to accomplish this is to have a separate Layout. Is that how you would do it?
  8. I can understand that idea - but you would have to do that for each drawer. I was thinking more of a global solution without needing to burrow down 3 dialogs.
  9. It would be nice to have - but as I stated, it would require that the handle symbol could know the geometry of each drawer front. It doesn't appear to me there's any link within the model to make that happen. I could be wrong but I don't think so.
  10. Unfortunately, for that to happen the Symbol would need to be able to know what the drawer face is. I don't think that could be done. It's relatively easy for users - as Larry did in this case - to provide separate symbols. CA's programming resources would be better spent on other features.
  11. You need to modify the 3D origin of the Symbol. That can be done only if you copy the Symbol to your user Library.
  12. Is there a set of materials for "System Pavers"? There's a variety of shapes, colors and arrangements of the shapes.
  13. Style Palette(s) - extremely quick once set up.

  15. Hi Doug, Try this: In Layout, dlb click a Layout Box In the Tab that's Highlighted check the Plan File Name If that's the Plan you want to "Not be in the ALDO" either delete the Layout Box or Relink it to the correct file. If not, close that Tab go to the next Layout Box Repeat for each Page in the Layout until you find offending Layout. There may be more than one Layout Box using that file. It's a tedious process but eventually you'll find the offending Layout Box.
  16. FWIW, I have quite simply copied the area of my Layout Sheet that's available for drawings and set up the same margins in my Plan Sheet. Nothing else is needed. When the Sheet is shown, the Margins are also shown. I have a Rectangle Polyline that corresponds to the Sheet Boundary so when I send to Layout the Layout Box is the same size as the Layout Page. For Details, the Boundary is sized as a whole fraction of the available area
  17. Evidently I had managed to get a matching rectangle created on a layer that I still needed to be displayed. That layer was locked so I couldn't select it. User ERROR
  18. Turning off the Drawing Sheet doesn't do it.
  19. I have defined the Drawing Sheet Margins so I know what will be available for drawing to match the Layout. However, I do not want those margins to be displayed in the Layout when I send the entire sheet. Does anyone know how to suppress their display in Layout? I can't even fine what layer they are on.
  20. Eric, I think Adam was pointing out that it might not be a good idea to try to search for "Vacuum".
  21. TP, Put all Schedules in separate CAD Details, not in the Plan Views Send the Schedules to Layout (whatever page(s) you want That way the Schedules will be live in the Layout and any changes to the plan will update the Schedules. I would never do it any other way.
  22. Hi Brad, I don't understand the problem. You can "copy, edit, rename" Room Types as much as you want. I don't think there's any limit to how many you can have. I haven't checked but I would think the X14 Defaults would be automatically transferred to X15. If not, it shouldn't be too hard to modify the list to match what you had in X14.
  23. Yep, Some require a 5" diameter x 8" deep space. That could mean either no drawer or a short drawer so the unit could be behind the drawer.
