  1. No. You can't. It requires a second 3D molding polyline with a rotated molding profile. It's all doable though.
  2. Try turning off your Grid Snaps and see if that helps. Might also want to turn Object Snaps back on.
  3. Ah, I must have missed that requirement. I personally think that looks kinda funny and run the kick plate from outside to outside but to each his own. For that, I would likely just turn off exterior casing, use a 3D molding polyline, and then block that to make it easier to position as a single object. The symbol method works too but is less flexible with regard to changing things later (changing molding profile, adding or removing lintel, etc.).
  4. A lot of ways to do this kind of stuff, but I think for most situations is best to just keep it simple...
  5. Check the Materials Wire and Lattice Bonus Library
  6. You place them on the foundation layer completely independent of the walls above. No need for any invisible walls. Read up on using Material Definitions and the Components capabilities.
  7. Not sure I agree. I believe the problem is related to images with transparent backgrounds and the way those image files are handled within certain PDF viewers/editors (the Preview app in this case). Chief's PDF generator preserves those transparencies while a lot of other PDF generators do not (at least not by default). It seems to be the handling of those images with transparent backgrounds in PDF files that is the problem and not the PDF itself. Just because you can use another PDF printer without having the same problem doesn't mean it's a Chief problem. You would have to use another printer that also preserves the transparency to prove your case.
  8. It's in your wall tools. You just need to specify the Pour Number in it's Foundation tab to match the Pour Number for the slab in which you're using it.
  9. This is a known issue when printing from the Preview app. Print from something else like Acrobat Reader or another PDF reader/editor.
  10. The word I think you're looking for is referencing, and the answer is no.
  11. If you're suing the Glass Panel Door Style, then the settings you're looking for are found here....
  12. Lots of ways, but I would probably just build the cabinet with no doors and position the doors manually. Put one group onto an "Armoire Doors, Open" layer and the other group onto an "Armoire Doors, Closed" layer. Simply toggle layers to change the display.
  13. Yes. You can, but it would swing open with the door.
  14. Looks nice Alan! The one piece of advice I would offer is that I typically avoid adding any detail that's really not needed when modeling custom 3D symbols. Sometimes the detail is necessary and sometimes it isn't. In the example I posted above for instance, I left off the fillets and didn't actually included the holes in the brackets either. Very minor details, but even including the extra hex nuts, the resulting symbol still only has 1/4 of the number of faces as your more technically accurate symbol does. All those extra faces really start to add up.
  15. Here's a quick video showing how to make this type of thing for yourself. It's really quite easy... Gable Bracket.calibz
  16. Instead of placing that Layout Page Table directly onto a layout page, place it in a CAD Detail in Layout, and then send that CAD Detail to your layout page (from layout to layout). This makes it very easy to simply copy that view and reposition/crop the layout boxes instead of having to meticulously mask ask adjust drawing order. Here are a couple quick videos I made a little while back showing the method I typically use for this type of thing...
  17. This is a VERY clever solution Rob. Love it.
  18. You're welcome. As Steve mentioned above though, the invisible wall isn't a perfect solution. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the real problem isn't how the railing connects to the adjacent wall's main layer but rather the way the room generates the deck. Is that correct? Either way, to address the issues with doors, the next step would be to open up the deck room, adjust these 2 settings... ...and then delete that invisible wall. If you need to modify the deck again later you will need to repeat the process. Regarding the wall snaps specifically though, you can select the wall, click on the Edit Wall Layer Intersection tool and then drag the layer back to the wall surface... ... Again, this won't really change anything in that scenario though except for the plan view wall display.
  19. I usually use some variation of this general idea...
  20. Not sure what your ultimate goal is for sure, but if my guess is correct, try this...
  21. As Eric illustrated but didn't very clearly state... You have to set the height manually. Notice that he had to uncheck Auto Heights.
  22. Here are 3 different ones. Just copy and paste... ⌀øØ
  23. Hmm. Did you manually position a light source as I suggested...obviously not at that same ceiling intersection. I’m away from my computer right now but before I posted earlier, I placed a simple 4 inch recessed light on the flat ceiling and it fixed the problem right away.
  24. This thread might help shed a little light on the situation since I think it's basically the same sort of issue...
