  1. I see your point, when it is that big that would be a little tedious. You must be drawing up one of those waterfront monsters
  2. @Chief5MeI made these for use as moulding. They are the Metrie Option M Shiplap in 7 1/4" and 11 1/2". Just add as many as you need per wall by offsets. METRIE OPTION M 7.25 SHIPLAP.calibz METRIE OPTION M 11.5 SHIPLAP.calibz
  3. If it is just planking you might need to move and manually adjust, use match properties to move it and create a board you need from a copy paste. minor workaround...we cant have it all automatic how we want it.
  4. Have you tried adjusting the roof planes in plan view? Pull over to line up how you want them then rebuild the roof framing. Auto roof build should be off to do this. Or post plan and somebody can take a look at it.
  5. Cut a section perpendicular to your hip and very close to hip and then you can apply a moulding line(use cad line and make parallel to roof plane). you can centre it in plan view then. only thing you have to do then is vertical(-3/4") and horizontal(-2 1/4") offsets.
  6. If the client still nitpicks, I would ask the client to give you sketch of what they want as a detail, since they are so stair knowledgeable.
  7. I am assuming you are talking about section callouts updating with new layout page numbers. Usually when you close and open plan all is fine with numbers refreshing. I don't believe we have ability to refresh on the fly.
  8. Like Michael said in his video for your roof problem. Check this thread out for your parapet wall on gables. https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/topic/16593-struggling-with-parapet-gable-walls/#comment-139620
  9. Change the material that is framing to fir framing. Remove the things not fir framing and put that in the surface portion. You may want to adjust the sub fascia size, that's up to you.
  10. Try setting it in the Defaults not as you build it. I have both in the roof defaults and framing defaults checked and it works.
  11. I use a moulding line for this.
  12. There has been a few discussions on this. Most recently the following thread: https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/topic/16349-does-anyone-work-from-a-portable-external-hard-drive/
  13. I have tried drawing new wall, changed wall types and new sections and I get same behaviour. Wall on right will not show cross marks even after auto detail if you break the cut line.
  14. That's what I would do. Just scab it to top chord with a 3:1 ratio.
  15. Check print to paper and not to scale. Of course the drawing will not be to scale then but if its just for client shouldn't need scaled.
  16. Try using the Chief Architect save asPDF
  17. I have no issues, all framing shows. perhaps post the plan.
  18. You are sending a layout to PDF or trying to print from floor plan view? Make sure sheet size matches what you are using and scale is correct. Maybe a screenshot of what your settings are when you try to print to PDF would help determine the issue.
  19. Chief already has a video. https://www.chiefarchitect.com/videos/watch/339/framing-with-floor-and-ceiling-trusses.html?playlist=144
  20. You could just turn off framing floor joist layer so they don't clutter the plan since the sill, rim and truss are separate layers. No need to delete the joists.
  21. You should check this video by dshall. Lots of good vids for new users on his Youtube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZNqVqkJOpnw
  22. Try turning on all layers and see if anything shows there.
  23. I got this from Sketchup, maybe it will work for you. QUARTER TURN ANGLE VALVE.calibz
  24. Have you tried mulling windows with the minimum distance between set to 0?
