  1. You can get a hint about PB Rendering in the X10 Preview Video, but it's public release is 4-6mths away I'd think , usually comes in the 1st or 2nd quarter of each year and as long as you have current SSA you get the upgrade free , so no reason not to go full version now , there is an option to Rent Premier too. Yes Photons on in all above pics but Caustics Off as they increase the time factor ...... Send your Plan to TS and get a few answers , as I see no reason Interiors shouldn't be able to do a good RT of an Interior, The Bleed is a known problem with the RT engine if there is no Roof or Floor system/foundation , not sure it classifies as a Bug though since the light needs something to bounce off and contain it... M.
  2. Okay ...in the night time view I thought it was a Terrace with doors leading out , in the daytime shot I see it is Windows and an Open Sash (casement) Window...
  3. the biggest issue is the Tone Mapping Settings ...just way to bright.... I set set it up something close to Graham's Post here .... Tone Mapping "ON" Contrast 35% Intensity 35% Softness 4% Color Correction 0% Brightness 48% Contrast 70% Saturation 50% https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/topic/14512-lets-ray-trace/?do=findComment&comment=123490
  4. making corner windows is an issue , has been for many years , but you can force them to join by bumping them together , fast and hard usually . Not sure if the minimum window separation setting will help with the other issue or not? So why windows , not doors ? the photo seems to show a Door in the middle at least

The New X9 Tutorials Guide is pretty good too , it is an extended version of the User Guide.... and starts right at the beginning https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/documentation.html
  6. screenshot would like clarify it for the OP...I know what you mean though with the mask , I have not had this issue with a Wall elevation , they usually work well.
  7. No seems buggy to me , should go into TS for sure.... M.
  8. I thought you had set the Windows to Opaque glass ? but didn't check, I know Interiors can't generate a Sky ( I don't use it much anyway) but I had assumed you still had Backdrops ? I can turn it on in your plan but I have Premier. Interiors can't do Terrain etc either which maybe why they don't let you place objects outside. 3D>3D view defaults>Backdrop you may want to look at what you can and can't do in Interiors.... https://cloud.chiefarchitect.com/1/pdf/marketing/x9feature-matrix.pdf
  9. checking the Truss Box ? that causes the whole roof plane to drop to about 6" thick ....... at least in my plan.... I am not sure this is framed with a hip roof at 1/4" slope though...
  10. In photography I would say you were "blowing the highlights" you are way too bright and your intensity level is way high too. Contrast is 100% cos you left it on Auto etc under Tone Mapping Rebuild the Roof on Auto , you have tried adjusting the planes, as this works for me.... I don't have all your textures like on the ottoman etc. so 50 passes only took 1.22 Minutes , (1280 x720) my usual 10 passes took 17 secs ...maybe the fastest I have seen , no textures helps apparently Take a look at these Settings for a Starter , hopefully you have X9? , you have not filled in your signature so people know your specs....see mine below for a how too... 11. Seems like a bug to me but in this case checking the Balloon through option on the structure tab for the WALLS fixes the siding , the wall framing still stops at the rafter bottom, but a section shows two weird ??? I don't see in other views.... Is that a standard zipwall wall definition? ( we don't have zipwall here , just read about it...)
  12. Something similar can be done fairly easily with invisible walls and a few Panels from DMDz's Nana Wall Library (attached) ...... I updated his (very) old free Library , and he has since provided a Single Panel version too... He also has an Updated full Library on his website along with other free and for sale items .... DMDz NanaWalls Updated 2017.calibz DMDz_NanaWall Single Panel.calibz
  13. A Partition or Soffit from the Cabinet Tools will do that for you better as a Door will need a Wall etc to place it.....
  14. the picture is too small to see any details , post the plan.... did you raise the roof after the fact ? is auto roof off and needs an update? framing needs a rebuild? ....... too much guessing as you can tell M.
  15. I don't think you are using X9
  16. that was why I was curious , it always seemed to be in the way , so my current Template Plan doesn't have one.... M.
  17. There are two Tutorials in the KB on doing this if you need more instruction ? it is what CA calls a Cape Cod.... https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00653/building-a-cape-cod-roof-that-bears-on-the-1st-floor-walls.html https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00772/building-a-cape-cod-roof-by-adjusting-ceiling-heights.html
  18. Check that you still have Room Definition on the Deck etc , as everything appears to be float now and it looks like you need you Guard rails set at 42" to match the 36" sloped rails. M.
  19. Hi , 8 lights is the current CA limitation ( part of OpenGL ) but changes in X10 to unlimited at the expense of performance Spot lights are best , Point lights really effect RT times , if you open the Light's DBX and turn on the Indicator on the Light Data tab you will get the blue Arrows in the Pic below which is helpful I find when doing a RT. The red cross shows it's on the blue arrow the direction . You can group select the lights using the Light Adjust Tool (light bulb icon) and switch them on and off as a group , or use the adjust button and group select to make changes like the Light Indicator on or off. Mick.
  20. Not if it is not in the Legend , not that a couple of feet in the legend is enough to throw the ML off enough to effect anything as far as pricing goes. And it would still be in the drop down though for use if needed. I just tried it you can actually drop it in from the Library , then delete the wall you drew and it will remain in the Wall Types Dropdown List , and doing this in the Template, then saving it, means you will always have it accessible. How are you doing your legend out of interest? M.
  21. I found had to Rename the Wall in the Wall Type Dropdown , resave it to the Library and then it used the Correct name in the Dropdown , so I updated the files above , I guess you can rename it that way to anything you like too ..... I guess if you dropped it into your Template Plan it would always be available Correct?
  22. I looked at that , even tried a brand new blank plan and got the same thing.... this is Matt's main walls ...siding 6
  23. Chopsaw , I just updated my files above as I noticed the new Wall was not reporting correctly in the Wall Type Drop down box , it should now show in the Wall Types Dropdown as 6 x 8 Piling Wall. better to to get the new file if you tried the old one, as I think the old one was using one of your standard wall names xxxx.x.4_ND ? which may mess your Wall Types up , not sure ? I guess you know that once you draw the 1st section of wall in the Plan , it is then available to edit via the normal dropdown too? M.
