  1. "but would it be realistic to estimate 40k-60k, 60k-80k, 80k+ if someone is very proficient in the software and has good business acumen." Yes. Every post said it, it is definitely up to you. You like the comfort of your job now, but if you jump in a design career it will be as comfortable as you make it to be.
  2. From Chief Help: To print in grayscale, check Obey Color On/Off Setting in the Preferences dialog before printing, then uncheck Print in Color. See Appearance Panel. • To print in black and white, uncheck Obey Color On/Off Setting in the Preferences dialog before printing, then uncheck Print in Color. Lines and fill colors print as either black or white, depending on which is closer to the line or fill’s actual color. Most black and white printers print a grey scale approximation of the colors if Print in Color is selected. Hope it helps

  5. I saved plan A as plan B but mistakenly worked on plan B for electrical plan. Is there a simple way to bring the electrical design back to plan A beside re-drawing it? To all, I wish you a Happy Fourth of July
  6. That's not an option if you are serious about doing business
  7. I sent the file to support. Issue has been solved by using "Save as PDF" in print dialog.
  8. It sure looks like it, some areas are pink, some are black/white. I printed the layout several times but it still shows as same. I printed it on paper as well and the areas of pink are barely a visible light grey. It is on most pages. one elevation is 50/50. Has anyone encountered this problem? BTW I'm using PDF995 and the setting is "No color". Thanks
  9. Thanks Alan. Would it be a problem to hire an "non local" engineer?
  10. I do not know where to post this really but i am reaching to this community. I need structural calcs for a project in East Bay area in California. Please let me know if you can or know someone who can. Thanks
  11. You would use the meter unit for most of architectural design except when detailing objects like furniture. For example a room dim. can be 9,60m x 10,75m (two digits after comma). Objects using pre-dimentioned materials, ie plywood or lumber, would be dimentioned in mm. (600mm instead of 0,60m) The dm or cm are not used.
  12. Thank you ShaneK, Jutsmejerry and Alaskan_Son for your replies Alaskan_Son game the right tip. I was fiddling with Transparency which made the walls white in layout but they lost their color in Plan. Adjusting Luminosity was the key to keep the walls colored in plan but white in "no color" layout. Thanks all. I really appreciate your input
  13. Thanks ShaneK for your reply. I have checked Wall type dbx / fill in both exterior and interior walls . Same settings but yellow disappear while blue gets black. I also have two box polylines red in plan, but black in layout with no color. Can it be something not related to walls but to color in plan?
  14. Hello. In layout, I choose "no color". The exterior walls, blue in plans, stay filled with black but others, like yellow interior walls, have no color. How can I remove the black color? Thanks
  15. Thank you very mucH for your reply
  16. Is there a way to control the windows and doors label size?
