  1. Thanks Charles I just added similar text based on yours to my Layout Template.
  2. I'm using an older LG W2600H, left, a 32" Acer (B32HUL) middle, and a new Acer 27" (Model Acer K272HUL) right. Bought them all on sale and am very happy with them all. Great set-up for my work flow. I've thought about the wide aspect ratio monitors like the 34" LG but I don't like splitting the screen and having the menus switch and never really knowing which view is open. Much rather have separate monitors though admittedly I've never tried it. Would not even consider a 1080p monitor. Just not enough real estate for me.
  3. Try going down to the foundation level and lowering it from there?
  4. Meant to say Chief behaving badly and edited post. Sent it in this morning. Thanks for the F5 tip.
  5. Closed and reopened the plan and now it works OK but I've seen it numerous times. Anyone else?
  6. Check this link. http://www.usg.com/content/dam/USG_Marketing_Communications/united_states/product_promotional_materials/finished_assets/acoustical-assemblies-en-SA200.pdf and this google search... https://www.google.com/search?q=stc+50+assemby+detail&oq=stc+50+assemby+detail&aqs=chrome..69i57.6143j0j4&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8
  7. If you leave auto build roofs on as long as possible their heights will be very close the desired heights after all floors are built to their proper heights.
  8. I thought it could be a game changer when I first saw the new cut plane options and still do - but solid fills are a must. Personally would be VERY surprised to see this in a new version.
  9. Yeah, check that pic I posted Perry. LOTS of potential but in the current state, no matter how you slice it (pun intended) not so useful IMO.
  10. Done that many times as well when going over a unique situation but never used the 'slice options" Perry mentioned.
  11. Not sure this is what you were referring to Perry but if Chief could fill those components like joists, foundation and top plates etc. we could capture some 3D details that might be truly useful.
  12. Chief doesn't fill those live sections so they look really bad. I thought that if Chief did fill those sections it could be a game changer but as they are now they just look kinda silly.
  13. I have a plan file that has all my CAD details in it using a couple floor to separate the different types but I am beginning to just have them all on one floor as I don't use a lot of my own details in my plans. Anything missing is easily created using old details as a starting place. Whenever I need a lot of details it's usually done by my engineer and I'll use his detail sheet and refer to those in a plan mark-up. I started drawing my CAD details to scale many years ago but can't find any use for it now. I was always taught to never scale a detail and so I just draw them and send them to layout at a size that works for the current Layout. They might be close to a scale but I don't what that scale might be. I send my details in a random fashion (no boxes) and try to get them on the relevant page. Foundation details on the foundation plan etc. instead of a single detail sheet. My jobs a re mostly pretty small so the detailing is quick and easy.
  14. ...I think. I had this problem before but can't remember how to fix it. When I take a perspective overview the camera is so far away that I can't zoom or rotate with any accuracy etc. It is plan specific so I changed something in the plan inadvertently. Plan below perspective.plan
  15. My advice - run - don't walk to Chieftutor.com pay to join and dive in.
  16. [sarcasm]Thanks Graham but those settings aren't perfect - could you try again? And as I said I am much too busy to learn myself - thank you.[/sarcasm]
  17. Yes please sign me up too as I don't have time to learn either.
