  1. Here is the file... CHF_Berry_01-30-20_AS-BUILT.zip
  2. Anyone have any luck breaking stairs in X12? I'm trying to break them at the wall shown in the first image. When I do and pull the lower section over in front of the wall cap, the wall gets removed and railing is placed all the way up to the second floor. Any workarounds for this? Thanks, Kevin
  3. Mark - very true, but I am trying to learn how to handle such situations. Who knows, perhaps these angled kitchen walls will come back in style (hope not). Thanks for your input. Kevin
  4. Thanks Maureen. Not sure why I didn't catch that one...
  5. I opened a plan this morning after having not worked on it for 11 days. The floor plans show these lines all over the view. They cannot be selected and deleted. Anyone have any idea what they might be and how to remove? Thanks!
  6. Thanks Michael. I was actually able to get it to work using some of the techniques you mention above. As Eric said you just have to fiddle with it for a while.
  7. Thanks again Eric. I'll see if I can get it to work. I appreciate the file. Kevin
  8. Thanks Eric. That is exactly what I wanted to do. Did you have to use invisible walls to make it work? I guess I could use P-solids, but is Chief not capable of framing such a situation? Ridge - Thanks for the reply. I do exactly as you outline. Chief has a great training video for this situation, but I still want the auto-framing for use in a glass house presentation. My intention is not for two walls to occupy the same space. The exterior walls have been framed with these angled walls to create corners for the kitchen cabinets as was popular in our area about 30 years ago. These interior partition walls (2 x 4's) are mitered around the exterior 2 x 6 framing and I'd like to get Chief to do this as well.
  9. I've got the attached situation. I have tried getting clean miters between these exterior walls and interior partition walls without any luck. I have tried breaking the interior walls where they meet the exterior framing along with reversing directions so that they won't reconnect. Would someone please tell me how I go about doing this properly? BTW - these interior walls on the angle will be removed in the new design, but I need to show the as-built conditions. I've also attached the plan which I haven't gotten very far along on... Thanks, Kevin CHF_Vassiliou_12-19-19.plan
  10. Thanks Eric. I didn't know that was possible. I removed the jambs as there really aren't any. I guess you painted the jambs to match the drywall?
  11. I've got some really thick walls where the windows (replacement type) have no jambs (drywall inside). The windows are situated near the brick on the exterior. Is there any way to move the windows in this direction - images attached. Have tried recessing to main layer and sheathing - nothing moves the sashes. Thanks, Kevin
  12. Thanks Gene. That's a great idea. I appreciate the help!
  13. I've placed some recessed lights on the ceiling. They will not show up in the camera view. When they do sometimes show, the fixture itself will not glow so you can't tell the source of the light. I used the eyedropper tool to paint the trim from bone to white, but was careful not to paint the emitter. Could this be the problem? I also have some pendant lights that I have turned off and don't want emitting. Attached is the file. I'd appreciate someone taking a look. Thanks, Kevin CHF_McGregor 12-07-19.zip
  14. Thanks for the tip Mark. This is quite a workaround. Does Chief create cabinet accessories in manufacturer catalogs in the same way? Does anything cabinet related have to be imported as a cabinet door?
  15. Thanks Mick and Mark. I'll get on it tomorrow. Mark - I won't be pricing this job, but thought I'd make it easier for the designer who will be. I wouldn't normally put cost info on a floor plan, but in this case trying to be helpful. Is it possible for me to take a corbel (classified as millwork) and have it show up in the cabinet schedule? I've changed the layer to one that is cabinet specific, but I do not see any further options to include in schedule. Thanks again. Kevin
  16. I just laid out a kitchen and entered list prices for each cabinet under the components tab. Is there no way to have these fields show up in the cabinet schedule? I did some searching around and saw MarkMc's video where he copies and pastes into excel, but I need the cost data to come directly from CA. Any ideas on how to achieve this? Thanks, Kevin
  17. Thanks Chopsaw. Seems like a lot of work - although necessary. I don't even recognize those objects from the plan. Oh well - I'm sure I put them there somehow.
  18. Thanks guys. I very much appreciate it. I remember seeing that warning until I clicked to ignore it. How does something like this happen and how do I fix it? I went back to the working plan and selected all. I then selected fill window and scrolled down for about 5 minutes until giving up. Chopsaw was able to zoom in on the problem area - I can't seem to get there. At least I now know why the shadows aren't showing up. If you can give me any advice on how to remove the corrupt CAD lines, I'd be grateful. Kevin
  19. Thanks Chopsaw. I can't imagine it would be a problem with the sun angle as the shadows show up in section view before sending to layout. I will send to support in the morning. Thanks again.
  20. Also, it's not just the shadows that are a no show. The roof pitch labels aren't conveying either.
  21. Chopsaw - didn't realize .rar files weren't as commonly used nowadays. I have attached as a .zip. You are correct - these are plot lines (all three of the layout boxes are) and the middle elevation shows the shadows just fine. It's got to be something else. I'd appreciate you having a look at P-4 of the layout. CHF_Chin_Proposed_11-13-19.zip
  22. Perry - thanks for the reply. They are checked in all three layout boxes and only one shows the shadows and roof pitch labels. Further, they show up fine in the cross-section - just not in the layout.
