  1. Here's the plan file which exceeded the total limit in the last post... WAINSCOT.zip
  2. I was able to create this using a left, mid, and right custom symbol that resizes quite nicely (up to a point). The only problem now is the textures don't flow nicely across the individual components. I have tried with and without global mapping. I guess I could get around this by assigning proper UV's in another program, but it would be just as quick to draw it to proper size to begin with. CABINETS.calibz
  3. The wood grains looks correct. I am talking about the beading profile on the door itself where the frame meets the center panel. With the method described I am assuming it can only be square.
  4. Thanks Eric. That's a great method for a quick sketch of a painted surface. Parts of this kitchen (the island) will be wood and I'd like to show the rails and stiles with proper grain direction. Also, this method does not allow me to use the beading profile that matches the rest of the cabinet fronts. I may have to build my own symbols and piece them together or properly sized to begin with. I thought it would be really cool if I could automate it within CA.
  5. Renee - thanks for the reply. Do you have an example of this? Would I have control over the intermediate stiles where they join? Will it look correct in a vector view? I want to depict these as accurately as possible.
  6. I'm building my own cabinet door/drawer front library. This library includes wainscoting that has four or more raised panels. I want the raised panel areas to be the only ones to resize when I stretch. There appears to be a limit of three stretch planes. Is there a workaround for this other than piecing my wainscoting? Much thanks, Kevin
  7. It's definitely an astragal, but doubling the jamb is close enough and as Ryan mentioned, I could always place a vertical molding. Thanks again for the tip on using two doors.
  8. Is it possible to place a mullion between a pair of double doors? I need the width of the mullion to accurately depict the overall width of the opening. I thought there might be an option/setting I was overlooking. Thanks.
  9. Yes, placing my own light turns off the default placed by CA. Thanks for the help!
  10. Graham - thanks for the reply. I will attempt to place my own light to override the default. Mike - funny thing - when I switch over to PBR, the casing around the door glows like a light source. That said, I believe that is an entirely different issue that I've heard mentioned before...
  11. I started using X12 yesterday with an X11 file. There is a light source in my layout that I cannot find - images attached. When I go to 3D > Lighting > Adjust Lights to find the culprit, there's nothing there. Anyone have any ideas where this light might be coming from and why it doesn't show up in the light list? It's not the sun for sure... Thanks, Kevin
  12. Thanks for sharing the GE Cafe appliances. They're quite popular with my clients too.
  13. I totally missed those extra options. Thanks Eric and Tommy!
  14. Thanks Michael. How does one go about making a complete break? I am definitely breaking the stairs, but when I pull it over, it reattaches and forms a solid railing up to the landing. Kevin
  15. Here is the file... CHF_Berry_01-30-20_AS-BUILT.zip
  16. Anyone have any luck breaking stairs in X12? I'm trying to break them at the wall shown in the first image. When I do and pull the lower section over in front of the wall cap, the wall gets removed and railing is placed all the way up to the second floor. Any workarounds for this? Thanks, Kevin
  17. Mark - very true, but I am trying to learn how to handle such situations. Who knows, perhaps these angled kitchen walls will come back in style (hope not). Thanks for your input. Kevin
  18. Thanks Maureen. Not sure why I didn't catch that one...
  19. I opened a plan this morning after having not worked on it for 11 days. The floor plans show these lines all over the view. They cannot be selected and deleted. Anyone have any idea what they might be and how to remove? Thanks!
  20. Thanks Michael. I was actually able to get it to work using some of the techniques you mention above. As Eric said you just have to fiddle with it for a while.
  21. Thanks again Eric. I'll see if I can get it to work. I appreciate the file. Kevin
