cool, thanks! how do you set up a horizontal brick wall cap to close off the foundation at the top? just seeing if your way is easier.
-
I forget how to set it up to where the exterior side of the stud wall is in line with the exterior side of the running block. (bumped outward)

I have been messing with numbers and can't get it just right. Anyone know how to get this type of door exact? door size is 72"X96" It's like I need to get the casing to move up higher to be symmetrical all around.
-
thanks man, i try to move the grips and it goes nuts but obviously you got it.

guys, to further complicate this home, it has a false ceiling. the living is vaulted all the way from the kitchen to the fireplace below two different height gables. my problem i ran into from day one is the highest gable coming down into the living space. i ballooned thru ceiling above but nothing. it has to be on top of the ceiling planes i manually created to close off the gable at attic level. i am not grasping these attic walls on this home......arghh. plan attached an dupdated. dormer also has to be functional and open to living space. You guys are great, i always learning new ways from the forum. Thanks.

you totally rocked that! was it just a matter off connecting roof planes or did i have wall properties messed up? (i.e gable walls) thanks man!

can anyone tell me what i am doing wrong on the left side gables?? it's a mess and needs cleaning up/roof planes joined. attached is my cad pdf and the plan file. i have been fighting this for a few days. this one is getting me stumped. it is done in x12. home characteristics: all rooms have 9' ceilings front porch is 10' ceiling back porch is 9' ceiling highest ridge is 23'-10" roof pitches are 10/12 dormer pitch is 3/12 porch pitches are 4/12 Harris_Ward.plan

oddly, it was on slabs layer. maybe i missed that layer turning them on and off
-
Can anyone tell me what these are on the framing plans? I turned all the walls off and then went through every layer turning them off and they still exist. They seemed locked and you cannot click them. I have only see this in X12. This is the first time in X11.

Ohhhhh, I get it it. The whole time I was thinking the height was for the height of the molding so I was inputting 3". It's actually the height above floor. I am used to seeing height in absolute, terrain and finished floor options. Thanks guys.
-
Guys, I am not too good with manual mouldings. I need to add a piece of moulding where it's circled but it keeps putting it on the floor. Why can't we give it a height above floor. I draw the line in plan view and make it a 3d moulding polyline. Apparently I am doing something wrong. The mouldings you see in the pic are automatic with the cabinets.

yes, auto elevation dims works great. i just really like the centerline dims that NKBA throws in. thanks
-
more, very aggravating and time consuming to pull the grips away.
-
ok, so where do we turn off moulding dims in NKBA? I have unchecked all the options except for cabinets and fixtures and still get these pesky things.

hey guys and gals, a couple years ago i made a simple sign and cannot remember nor find the article on high i did it step by step. it was a business sign. it did not contain any 3d lettering. what i do remember was making a rectangle polyline sold and somehow was able to overlay the name on the sign from a bitmap or something. it came out great and added it to my business project i was working. any tips on how this is done?
-
cool, thanks #1 works great lol

10-4......all i needed to know. may just keep X11 installed for these projects until im done. apparently the software isn't what takes up space, it's the plan files and archives.

hey guys, happy new year! 1) i will be downloading X12 from X11 tonight to catch the sale price. I currently have several projects going in X11. Are there any precautions to take? I have asked this before but want to double check again to avoid any loss of work. 2) i put alot of time on a project that i finished this summer (about 40 hours). The owner came back in november and wanted to change alot and add a bonus room. I want to check the exact hours from the time log from 11/23/20-12/30/20. when i do the start/finish date in the log it spits out 888 hours lol. how do we use this feature properly?
-
solved. unchecked flat ceiling over this room.
-
will do. rough ceiling zero?
-
open below was made on floor 2
-
the space i labeled as open below is not cutting the ceiling.
