Why on earth are people doing that? I just did a set for a small camp and the owner/builder isn't pulling a permit. He isn't messing around either. Within two weeks of finishing his drawings he sent pics of the whole thing framed and blacked-in and he even had cmu pilings which I am sure takes longer than a standard slab.

Doing an office renovation and cannot for the life of me find an electrical symbol for an ethernet outlet. Do we have anything in CA? I see some in Sketchup 3D warehouse but the models aren't that good and come in distorted and out of shape OR multiple ones at once. Confused why this isn't a standard electrical item in CA.

Oh man, I'm old school but I can do without landlines haha. I do the same note for landscape and soffit lighting as well. Less I have to show and soffit lights can be a pain and not attach sometimes.

Hey guys, how many of you still add tv coaxial or the CA Cat 5 symbols for TV locations? In a world where everything is streamed is this something you still add? Or do you add a note like myself stating "Any TV cable locations to be coordinated between homeowner and electrician"?

Is the origin "x" indicator equivalent to placing a drawing at 0,0,0 in AutoCad?. Just curious, and if so how is that helpful to us?

Not my favorite but it don't look too bad. These plans are for a builder I work with and it will be a spec house and he knows what he is doing so I am sure he will make it look good.

Thanks guys, I have to leave the pitch the same as shown. If I do two roof planes butted up to each other the boxed eave won't close I bet but I will add some pics on here once I get it done.

Is there a way to expose rafters tails on one part of a roof plane and keep the remaining "boxed" as shown? Client wants exposed rafter tails on the porch only.

Yeah, from the very first time I used CA and pulled a leader line with text it was rich text so that's what I used from day one.

What is the main difference with rich text though?

You are right, I had to stretch the box to get it to fit right> Keep in mind, these plans were already completed and delivered months ago. When I opened it today the text was all jacked up.

Ok, so I am not crazy then. Looks like lots of feedback on your thread.

Howdy folks, I am sure some of you have experienced this like I have over the years and I am finally going to ask why it happens. Why does the text in both plan and layout files shift sometimes? I have narrowed it down to two things in common and that is when I have to hold down "control" and zoom in on my pc to make the screen bigger or smaller (different scenarios require that sometimes) or I upgrade to a new computer. I can then open up a set of plans I have already worked on and have to go through and adjust each text and stretch the grip to make it go back to normal and that is very time consuming. Any tips on this (if any of this makes sense to you all)? Example below......... before after

What are the steps on that? I already tried and had no luck.

This is for a law firm job I am doing so I need to add a room schedule on this drawing because many of the offices will have different finishes.

Hey guys, I set up my dimensions to round off to the nearest 1/2" on this particular job and noticed this. I design to 23' but it dimensions to 23-0 1/2". Not good. Is there an X15 update to fix this bug?
