hey guys, happy new year! 1) i will be downloading X12 from X11 tonight to catch the sale price. I currently have several projects going in X11. Are there any precautions to take? I have asked this before but want to double check again to avoid any loss of work. 2) i put alot of time on a project that i finished this summer (about 40 hours). The owner came back in november and wanted to change alot and add a bonus room. I want to check the exact hours from the time log from 11/23/20-12/30/20. when i do the start/finish date in the log it spits out 888 hours lol. how do we use this feature properly?

the space i labeled as open below is not cutting the ceiling.

this house was completed and paid for this past summer. i saved a copy of the plan file to see if someone can figure out what's going on. stairs were added as you enter the home to go to a bonus room they want to add now. i cannot get the open below to work now that i created a floor 2 so it would recognize space in the attic. any suggestions on what i did wrong? thanks guys. i hate tearing back into finished homes. basically the front window in the gable should be letting natural light thru and the entire l shaped stairs should have no ceiling for head clearances. everything else is changed. bonus room above kitchen is developed on floor 2. alot has changed on this file, the roof is reconfigured among other things with the walls. so there are things out of whack like electrical and such. I am about to upgrade to X12 from X11. I still have ongoing projects started in X11. Someone on the forum recently sent me a plan file to look at from X12. It wouldn't let me open it stating it was from a newer version. When i upgrade will i still be able to work X11 projects? I don't intend on keeping two versions loaded on my PC and save hard drive space.

fireplace layer turned on but won't show in wall elevation. shows just a hole. will it only show in a cross section?

is plot lines still linked with the plan model if you move something? it sure does look alot better though. i just tried it.

just wondering what you guys and gals like to use for elevation views. when i send to the plot shop for my prints, sometimes technical illustration has blurred/shiny areas and vector view is just too dark for non colored prints. line drawing type creates crooked lines. how do you guys use the program for the best prints as far as the elevations go? i give a color rendering of the front of the home on sheet 1 of my plans. just want the black and white elevations to look as good as possible.

How do you typically insulate these type of ceilings? Roof properties from top to bottom are.....shingles, felt, osb, beadboard on top of 2x6 rafters.

every project is a new adventure. i want to have the the top of this polyline solid beam trimmed to the underside of the roof. would the outline have to be drawn in a elevation view then subtracted in a plan view?

why not change the views to line drawing. done.

i had this happen about a month ago. i ended up deleting the framing, was time consuming. every time i rebuilt the wall framing it came back.

where can we set the auto elevation to pull from the top of slab and not the top of the finished floor thickness? if i have 12' ceilings i want to show 144". not 11'11 5/8".
