My perspective overviews are not being nice to me in X13 and now I can't go back to X12. Bogus lines in standard and vector views.

could be.......maybe a simple cased opening........it is dividing a powder room vanity from toilet.

I am looking at a professional set of plans from an architect. He calls out doors with no legend. A 2880 SRO door is what? I know it's a 32"X8' door but SRO is throwing me off. It could mean anything with no legend lol. Anyone came across this? It looks like a pocket door?!?!?

Ok, I've just always wondered what beta was. Do you save previous releases on your PC and does it really take up that much more space, the program alone? I have X10-X13 now installed.
-
yeah i just got an error after it downloaded arghhhh. what is the beat version?
-
hmmm, it says X13 available in my digital locker........

Thanks guys, at least I know now. Not too familiar with macros. Of course it has been asked before but when can we upgrade to X13? I'm currently up tp date with SSA.

Is there a setting we can bring in for this yet? I'm using X12 and do it manually. The room finish schedule gives SQ FT for each room but I like to show it this way.

I have a set of plans right now from a client who hired me to make some changes since they couldn't get in touch with the previous designer. (retired a few years back). He had the home sideways which really throws you off looking at it when the main entry is to the right. I was taught from day one in college 25 years ago and then working with builders, do whatever it takes to make at least the floorplan 1/4"=1'-0". I have kept every single plan on 24x36 since. Here is an example of another home I just finished with your same situation. I will do this every time when the need arises.

good job......I fought with manual planes and joining them.

Thumbs up to solver! It worked alot easier than the dutch gable command.
-
That thought crossed my mind but haven't tried it yet.

Hello All, Is this type of roof manual roof planes for the attic gable or Dutch gable command?
-
I've often wondered this myself. Autocad architectural is what I used before Chief. Chief blows it out of the water in my opinion. It would be nice to do large commercial buildings, however, as a residential designer and not a licensed architect or engineer, there is a lot more that goes into that. You won't be stick framing a church, school or hospital. It's all metal structure and that's where my experience comes to a halt. I have 20 years of shipbuilding experience with I-beams, angles etc. but no clue on how commercial buildings are put together. I looked at revit before I bought chief and was still drawn to chief, so here I am.

I went ahead and made some changes and slid the dutch gable back over the front exterior wall and it actually looks decent. Too much of a headache the other way.
-
Yes, I just asked about this the other day. I deleted all my fixtures and furniture on a plan file and still couldn't get the file size low enough to upload.
-
Yeah I see what you are saying. It's a dutch gable so if I line up the attic wall with the front exterior wall the roof won't leave any space for the exposed gable with a 9:12 pitch. I need those windows in the gable too. How do they build this in the field? It's like floating attic wall??
-
I literally just had this same situation. I made chamfered walls and labeled the spaces unfinished, no floors. Mine is a bonus room for kids. Give it a try.
-
Plan file is too big to upload. But why does chief auto generate incomplete attic walls. When you pull the grips to extend, it goes nuts. This is one thing I haven't mastered in the software yet. The roof is auto built as well.
-
Bummer, luckily I figured out my roof issue and don't need to load the file now. I even deleted all the unnecessary things to get the file size down and it still stuck around 15MB.
-
lol, yes sir.........I do my best work with several glasses of merlot.
-
Hey guys, has the limit always been 14MB plan file size to up load on here? I've never surpassed that limit until now and its a smaller home. Just wondering.

If your PC is old upgrade. Once you purchase one over the requirements to run the program you will be more than happy. Believe me, I used to fight modeling on an old pc. It's worth the upgrade.

I agree, I just like to add that extra kick to the renderings when I send to clients. I will stick with what I already have.
